studmuffin
St. Aldi have a set of 10 dies and 10 taps including holders, drill bits, and thread gauge for £16.99 on Thursday 9th Jan. Bought similar die set last year and they are very good. Barry
Orgasmic Farmer
If they are made by the same firm as the ones they used to sell, then yes they are excellent. Unfortunately, my experience with Aldi have been that stuff that used to be good a few years back are now carp!
Lewis
What have you had that's not been good? I've bought loads of bits and bobs from Aldi and lid lover the years, it would be a shame if I couldn't continue
mmgemini
Not only the tap and die set but the tool rack with store bins.
Orgasmic Farmer
I have bought a fair bit of their sports clothing (Crane Brand). I have well used stuff from 3-4 years ago that is still good. I recently bought a load of their cycling gear... the sole came off the shoes on the first ride and the gloves fell apart on the second one. The wind-proof jacket was made of cellophane and sized for a midget Chinaman, despite being an XL. I more recently bought a 3 pack of Dickies socks (thinking they couldn't mess that up) and 2 pairs ripped holes in them when I pulled them on the first time. But as I said I have stuff from a few years back which is still top. Pays your money and takes your choice.
UdderlyOffroad
The clothing from both seems to be of variable quality, but I haven’t noticed the tools drop in quality? Treated myself to the 3hp Lidl compressor before Christmas, certainly seems to do what it says on the tin.
discomikey
i paid £8 for a green checked lined jacket/fleecy type thing which is lovely and warm and is lasting well so far, that was from Aldi

Jocklandjohn
I went to Aldi today and got my taps this morning - they look ok, and at that price worth a punt. I also bought bananas. I'll report back on their effect later.
