KKMobile
Hi need some help? Seen a few people with a short stumpy waterproof axle breather. Where do you get them from as thinking of using them for a winch casing breather, rather than running pipe work to top of car? Thanks in advance for any help. Shackleton
If they look something like this one, they'd be better described as splash proof. If you waded they'd let water in.

Cynic-al
I think trail gear do one like a bellow so they can expand and contract but are always sealed to the elements

Shackleton
Aren't the ones Shackleton linked series axle breathers. Mike I've no idea I used them on my 2 door, but took the caps off them and jubilee clipped pipe to what remained. Never knew these existed, or why! http://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/axle-breather-creeper-breather.341422/
Team Idris
Bellows are going to be good. There is a modern water proof breather that has a metal cap like a series breather, but contains a spring and a rubber washer. It lets pressure out, but not back in. My concern is that it leaves a suction in the gearbox (or other thingy) that might encourage water in through the shaft seals? Normally 1/4" or 3/8" bspt. I changed mine for a pipe. I haven't seen bellows to buy yet.
Cynic-al
I'm sure you could make some with a party popper and a balloon https://www.trail-gear.com/TG/Axle_Housing_Breather/p/_4640.aspx I'm sure you could rob one of those off a cheap kids toy? My kids have one they got in a happy meal or a party bag or something where you whack it and a car shoots off.
