  1. I thought 10 spline truetracs were still available?
  2. I had a Kaiser Locker in the back of the 90. That was supposed to be better than the DL. It locks both wheels to the direction and speed of drive but allows either wheel (but only 1 at a time) to be turned faster than the drive input so as to allow for a different distance of wheel travel. Neither wheel can travel slower than the Ring Gear but either wheel can travel faster (but not both together). I think unlike a Detroit or other permanent locker it takes almost no force to allow a wheel to turn faster and allow for differences in travel distance such as in a turn (i.e. no under steer) or on uneven ground and without compromising the drive lock. My own experience of it was: On road - it was fine to live with and only really noticeable on a bend with a neutral throttle, where it would feel like it was alternating between locking and unlocking. This was most pronounced at very low speeds. However where it was being driven - i.e. the accelerator was being pressed and there was drive going through it, such as using the accelerator through a bend - then it behaved perfectly. My understanding was that those who had it with an Automatic transmission, then even on neutral throttle, it seemed to have achieved the holy grail of being a totally transparent auto locker. Off road (and on my manual transmission) it was noticeable only in an occasional noise when on say rocks that moved - so from grip to slip and so on.
  3. I have an ATB in the back of mine. Iā€™d forgotten it was there. Itā€™s great though and brilliant value. Iā€™m sure Iā€™m missing something on the - ā€˜youā€™ll be more stuck by the time you get stuck scenarioā€™ Surely getting stuck is more nuanced than just escalating levels of difficulty? It might be just the wrong line and you could fall foul of that on open diffs - atbā€™s - or lockers?, an auto device might be all the help you ever need on the terrain youā€™d choose to tackle?, it might be that getting further in is best as itā€™s safer to get through it than back out of it? I would think with whatever traction aids you do or donā€™t have we are capable of driving within our limits, making a bad judgement, being unlucky, or pushing too hard ? It seems all can be made to work if we strive to make good choices ?
  4. it seems that he knows that we know, but Iā€™m not sure that he knows that we know that he knows that we know.
  5. JLR are making another batch of V8 Defenders .... for Ā£190k this time https://www.topgear.com/car-news/revealed-new-old-land-rover-defender-v8-trophy
  6. Fabulous - and fabulous pictures too šŸ˜
  7. I take that back - it looks like they do now šŸ™‚
  8. The big downside of KM3ā€™s is that they donā€™t do them in 255. How much tread have these got Mike ?
  9. They are discontinued- and itā€™s been a while so I donā€™t know how easy it would be to find old stock. I did exactly what you are describing a couple of years ago - I bought 3 from TyreLeader, think they came from Germany, and put the best old one I had as a spare.
  10. There is a video on YouTube on one being fitted in situ ... I wouldnā€™t really want more power in my 80 - but smoother in the higher revs would be nice.
  11. Super helpful thank you. One of the things that seems to differentiate good footage is how smooth the transitions are .... I assume thatā€™s just experience of being smooth in flying it ? Perhaps I could get my 9year old to fly it and film us - I was thinking it would work best on some of the high passes in the lakes - or the Yorkshire Dales where the countryside is wide and open. I had looked at the Mavic Mini ā€˜fly moreā€™ package - I notice they have a Mavoc Mini 2 too now.
  12. I loved it too. I only got it in 360p though? I wondered if YouTube had not fully processed yet.... one of my favourite pieces of music too. Iā€™ve thought about a drone a number of times - especially one that can follow my on the 80ā€ when Iā€™m laning. Iā€™ve looked enough to know there is a lot of choice, a lot of knowledge, and that I think you need to spend quite a bit to get something that follows well, has decent flight time, and a good camera.
  13. has this one been shared ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133650373775 Or something a little larger https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PINZGAUER-VECTOR-718-6X6-PPV-RARE-VEHICLE-DIRECT-MOD-RELEASE-YEAR-2007-/174602023420?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
  14. That wouldnā€™t take much work
  15. Wow - thatā€™s a result. I have a Teng impact driver and one by one Iā€™ve broken each of the bits ... I keep thinking I should find out how to take it in somewhere to test the guarantee... only thing is I donā€™t have a relationship (or even know) any Teng stockists that arenā€™t online.
  16. Has anyone seen this US company specialising in Portal Axles? (a forum search didnā€™t find them) They do some with a lifetime warranty https://www.dstracaxles.com They do a kit for a Land Rover too.
  17. Dunsfold have permanently closed their doors šŸ˜ž and they are putting together bundles of their stock to be sold via auction on their website .... worth a look if you can make use of a batch of model specific parts. Lots being added over the coming year. https://auction.dunsfold.com
  18. I bought the Milwaukee one - but Iā€™ve already got the batteries. Itā€™s pretty amazing.
