  1. I have one of these on my 90. What is it supposed to do exactly?
  2. OOps... so thats what the search thing does!. Cheers
  3. I Tee'd mine into the pipe between the fuel pump and the turbo. Seems accurate enough. And youd have to be pretty thick not to notice a split boost pipe.
  4. ....between wide track and normal ones? Is the load area bigger or is it just axles? Cheers folks Roly
  5. how do you go about the o/s rangie shock mount? doesnt it point backwards?
  6. Yeah that about covers it. I pay 1150 for my 205.
  7. I reckon it would go in ok. I know someone who fitted a 7.6l perkins out of a combine harvester in a range rover.
  8. I read about that in an old EVO mag. Apparently they used 100k mile blocks, as these would have all the stresses worked out. or something. Roly
  9. 19, no no claims, one at fault accident, 3 points, Series 2, 800 quid. bargain.
  10. I have 265/75R16s with a disco box and find it a bit overgeared in fifth. It dont much like headwinds or hills. Thats with 200tdi.
  11. I installed one in a home made cubby box vertically and it was fine. That was an uber cheap Mutant jobby from motor world.
  12. Probably not a bad swap aslong as the chassis on the 90 is mint.
  13. My problem arises because my tank is on the floor in the back, making the top of the tank pretty much level with the filler. When i turn left, the diesel rushes to the right, up the neck and against the cap. So is the vent in the cap a one way device?
  14. If even 6 pointers dont do it, i have some snap-on sockets which cut a thread onto the rounded off head and grip tighter the harder you turn. I dont know what I'd do without them.
  15. Electrics i'd imagine. There are lots of simpler and better engines out there. TD5 is a bit of a carp choice for retrofitting.
  16. You have a 300tdi rad. get a 200tdi one.
  17. Because of the position of my fuel tank, (in the back) when i go round a left hand bend, my diesel spills out. I have a series 3 filler neck and cap. Now this is dangerous to bikers and besides, its expensive stuff is diesel. My question is, if i bought a defender type filler neck and vented cap like this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LAND-ROVER-DEFENDER-...Q2em118Q2el1247, is the cap smart enough to let air in but no diesel out? Is there any kind of one way valve? Cheers folks Roland
  18. So am i right in thinking that the tyre seats on the outside of the original rim?!
  19. I thought it was: mate changes gear, beer in left hand, steer with knees and fag in right hand?
  20. I find cheap nasty japanese ratchets work the wrong way. My Armstrong and Snap-On ratchets both work the right way and I get very confused when using the other type.
  21. Its the resistor pack, most likely situated in the heater air inlet. The reason it only works on max is because the other speeds go through resistors, max works straight through. Might be a bitch to get to on a Renault.
  22. I will admit that the lower unsprung weight will benefit handling. It is how much that gets me. If a front axle assembly weighs 300kg (for arguments sake) and you lose 3kg, you have lost 1%. Sod all difference. So if the handling or roadholding isnt much better, why fit them? Castor correction is the only other reason i can think of, but you can correct castor with modded standard ones from GL, or with eccentric bushes in standard arms. I still dont get them. Is it just because people like the look of them?
  23. Still dont see the point, look at the weight difference between 205x16s and 35/12.50x15s. That all adds to unsprung weight. And look at the weight of a landrover axle anyway, its monstrous.
  24. I f i was going to try to bend exhaust with one of those cheap hydraulic ones from Northern Industrial, would I have to pack the pipe with sand first? are these types any good?
