Hi guys I want to fit a S3 speedo head ( gauge / clock ) to my late 2a due to me fitting the 200tdi, I've looked on ebay for a speedo head that has similar mileage to mine but to no avail and as the rebuild is nearing completion I've been thinking about fitting a new speedo head rather than a used one, but want to know is it just a matter of fitting a new speedo head and off you go or do I need to tell DVLA that I've fitted a new speedo head

Off ebay they are britpart 1 kit per seat does either front outer seat @ £75 each but I like them and was pretty easy to do but you will need a decent staple gun mainly for the headrest covers -

Oh yes as both together gives me more space, ok no good for loose tools but ideal for stuff in cases or small boxes -

Yeah on my last 2a i restored i fitted the same style rock slider supplied with the same brackets but they was pre drilled and fitted staight from the slider to the out rigger rather than at in angle like mine are now think its because different models differ from each other. -

Well after deciding the Mazda RX8 seats won't do and looking at other seats i stumbled across a Defender seat referbish kit so i dug out my old Def seats i had from my 90 and ordered a kit to try and the outcome was great so have ordered another kit for the other kit as well as a matching cubby box as well. -

No just the BP ones, I was going to go for the rocky mountain ones and was happy to pay £500 for them but as I went to buy them they went up to £700 so I thought against the idea then started to look at the SP Galv ones but again to dear plus I would need to etch primer them then spray them so decided on getting the BP ones but from Craddocks this time as Paddocks had sold out of them. -

S3 Steering Box and Column to a 2a
Cornish Rattler replied to Cornish Rattler's topic in Series Forum
Are right nice one cheers. -
Hi guys Well yesterday what started off as just replacing the top steering column bearing, getting it all painted and fitted, ended up being a full strip down of the steering box as after I had painted the box and column and began to lift it off the floor to fit after drying in the sun I could hear what sounded like ball bearings jingling about in the box and ended up stripping it all down to refit everything using grease to hold all the balls in place but I just couldn't get everything to stay in place as all the balls kept falling out, my son had a go at it for a couple of hours and he struggled with no result, so I have decided on buying a recon'd one but all I can find are S3 ones I know they will fit but as mines an S2a will the steering work without the use of the steering lock / ignition switch, what do you think.
