  1. Fitted the pedal boxes today inc new Master cylinder's and gaskets, fuel filter after painting the filter head and accelerator linkage, oh and the rear door handle but I forgot to take a pic of that ☚ī¸
  2. Paddocks Britpart swivel kits are very good Teflon swivels with BP bearings, seals, bushes and stuff, used them on both my series 2a's and Def90 in the past infact I have fitted one to the 2a I am restoring now although the series kits don't use Teflon swivels but never had a prob with any of them
  3. Yeah i was hopeing to get more done but spent most of the day fitting the rear door as i think the van sides i bought last year from billing was from an hard top fitted with a tailgate then who ever had them before me drilled the holes to fit a back door in the wrong place as they was about 1/2 an hole out so i had to keep filing the holes out and fitting the door till i got it right, but i got there in the end.
  4. Fitted the rear door and fuel filler pipe, breather pipe and fuel filler today
  5. Yeah I think they was originally going to call the 90/110 a S4 as well which I think would have been better being as they was still running the same 4 cylinder engines and I think very very early ones still had the series 3 gearboxes fitted
  6. Thanks Dave, its just that I remember removing the feed pipe when I stripped the 2a down but can't think of the life of me where I have put it, I do have a parts catalogue which shows the fuel tank, sender, stack pipe and return stack pipe but doesn't show the feed or return pipes so it looks like I will do as you have said and go to my local motor factors 😉
  7. The bits are more or less in now so tomorrow I will post more pic's
  8. Are right ok I didn't know that ☚ī¸
  9. Hi guys Looking at purchasing one but need the part number if anyone has it please, I also need the part number for the return pipe as well please, thanks.
  10. Yes I think they would be, I to am looking at fitting new seat in my series 2a rebuild was going to fit Mazda RX8 seats in the front but after measuring where the seats will go there just isn't enough leg room, shame as they are a really good seat as I had them in my 90 but as they won't fit the 2a I am now going to fit the Exmoor trim hi back seats instead. Mite need to ask this ? on the Defender forum as well as this is the series forum
  11. Ordered some more bits yesterday so once they have rolled in I can start fitting them
  12. Yeah thinking about it mine i had on my last 2a was ES9000's not sure what the difference is between the 3000's and 9000's so mite look at something else instead.
  13. Sorry for the late reply, where Boris has is or on the front bumper, if it was a truck cab I would have said on the back of the cab on the gutter but you can more or less fit them anywhere even on ally but will need an earth wire running from the mount to a bolt that's going through something steel
  14. Payday can't come quick enough, feel like my hands have been chopped off
  15. Not saying they are the best but paddock sell the Pro-comp shocks for parabolics which is what I will be fitting to my paras when its nearer to be back on the road
  16. Yeah i'm looking at ordering one from Auto sparks but now I've seen this thread I will order a petrol one rather than buy a tdi one.
  17. Rumaging through an old plastic storage box that came with the 2a when we first got the 2a and found a full set of series vent grills and decided to aerosole them in gloss black
  18. I will be eventually just need to remove the old stuff first
  19. Not done much since fitting the door seals on Monday but I have made a Disco 2 dog guard to fit the 2a that I had from my Disco days, still need to fit a piece of plywood to yet for hanging my metal detector and stuff to, so once the 2a is back on the road I can start doing more beach metal detecting, I also stripped, cleaned and painted the pedal boxes and accelerator linkages ready for fitting once I've ordered more stuff when I next get paid
  20. Yeah I struggled a bit fitting them as although the rivets provided are long enough once everything has been pulled together they just wouldn't grip, also the original holes in the body was to big for the rivets so I ended up drilling fresh holes more or less the same size as the rivets and they worked well then, hope they will seal ok with the doors fitted but I dowt it
  21. You know what, they mite be better as I want them for fastening my small trolley jack bar and strong arm ( wheel nut remover ) to the rear wheel arch near the floor and I also want to install a dog guard with a piece of board fastened to it taking the same shape of the roof that I can fasten my metal detector, sand scoop and spade to and they look like they may do so I will order one and see if they will do
  22. Didn't get chance yesterday doing the door seals but i did today still got to finish the passanger side ones tomorrow but here's a few pic's of the reardoor and drivers door seals
