What's with the rope?
If you're going to imitate something, at least put some effort into it...

If you are not encased in a metal (I include those on a motorbike in that statement) then you should be more aware of your vulnerability and act accordingly ensuring you can be seen and not making sudden turns in front of someone else. .
I’ve always had the mind set to believe every car/bus/lorry driver doesn’t see me and ride defensively when out on a motorbike.
Has served me very well including avoiding eye contact with others and only moving when I want to and not when someone says it’s ok to do so ( out of junctions etc )
I see some cyclists disregarding those around them and become oblivious to the risk, head down and moving across the road.
Then again I see an awful lot more vehicle drivers doing the same

Leicestershire Police ask that any video is provided unedited - editing leaves a trail, so any tampering for artistic or nepharious purposes will come to light quickly. My dashcam produces 1 minute clips, (the original clip length can be set between 30 seconds and 5 minutes), they have been happy with simple copies from the data card.
I agree with you regarding the police using videos unedited as evidence, however it is very simple to edit a video and leave no trace and not for a nefarious reason’s either.

Video footage contains a lot of metadata, often including location, (from GPS), frame rate, shutter and aperture settings, the capture device ID and #numbers identifying each frame. Each time you edit the footage, the metadata is added/deleted or altered, so spotting changes and edits is not hard.
A number of Russians in Ukraine have received a nasty shock when the video data from their selfies has been analysed by the Ukraine intelligence services, Sending messages on public networks is not very smart.
If it was a go pro or similar professional body cam type then yes it would be storing a lot of information, however editing an original clip can negate any information from the original as the editing software delivers it’s own information which can override the original.
The clip doesn’t look to have been recorded on a decent camera at all, probably a cheap £20 Amazon jobby.

5 points is a bit harsh.

I need to strip it out as the movement is only on the arm connected to the FWH.
The other end is solid…a little too solid in fact given the rust on it.
Were away on the 7th for a month travelling so I’d like to get it sorted before then, as well as the squealing coming from somewhere on accelerating after 2000 rpm.

@simonr would be your man for this sort of thing.
He'll be busy working out how to make cars fly in more spectacular ways

Have you tried locking it with it disconnected from the axle? I wonder if it’s the moment it needs to align the locking parts? For locking it at ride height it might need to be rotated one bolt hole on the mount? Or spline for that matter.
That's how i knew the movement was there as i could rock it before i fitted it. Having never had FWH's on a vehicle i didn't know if they had that play in them...but if they do it would surely knacker them over time when you take up slack on acceleration or deceleration?
I also think i maybe at a disadvantage as the entire unit was pre built...i might take a look at how you build a new one from the kit and if there is anything i need to look at like you say, move it around

No pics for this update but i did fit the X eng adjustable roll bar in the For Sale section ( thanks to @western & @Snagger ) before going away over the weekend, i replaced one of the TRE's as it was rusted on, but left everything else as is. It was a busy few days before hand.
First impression is i'm not entirely sure if the locking hub is supposed to have travel or not?
When it's locked i can still move the end of the arm approximately 25mm back n forth.
When driving along, the Landy still has it's slight wallow but when i turn into a corner it does make a difference and you can feel a stiffness that wasn't there before.
Nikki manages to stay in her seat, which given the length of our relationship, is a good thing as i get nervous these days when she wants a hug when we're driving
Given the movement in the hub, the rubber's in the arms and it still has a standard ARB up front, i don't think i will remove the gentle wallow from daily driving and movements, but certainly an improvement on the rear in the corners/roundabouts.

Playing devils advocate, but if you're only using 12v between home and the destination, would a few ice packs inside and a well insulated small 240v fridge ( with a thermal jacket over it ) not do the same job?

Thor’s hammer, the Eiffel Tower and the screws which propelled the Titanic on her maiden, and final, voyage are items crafted with skill, perseverance and a touch of majestic know how.
Stephen’s anvil surpass these mere items with the ability to make you appreciate the time, effort, skill and countless possible doughnuts being eaten to provide us mere mortals with something that makes us smile and appreciate the work involved.
I’m honoured to have one.
Here’s a glass raised to you sir, thank you.

It might be an age thing but caravans are brilliant imho.
As for the van idea…I’ve been looking at those merc 4x4’s as a new project

Cheers chaps, that’s very kind of you to say so 😁
I have given it some thought to doing it for others professionally as I have my own workshop and if I’m honest, other than the CNC stuff it’s all pretty straightforward.
Being in the construction trade and a carpenter I know that when I’m left to do my own thing I come up with some good ideas.
This was one of mine when I was told to build a cocktail/tea room for someoneThe thing is though, I enjoy doing one off ideas but I don’t know if I could build these all the time…I don’t think there’s enough variation to keep me occupied.
Never say never though! -

You could make some second row split door cards with some of that, might be a bit thick though.
knowing how straightforward it was for me to make 2, for someone of your calibre, it’d be a walk in the park!

The fabric came from a well known textile company called Shufflebothams in Macclesfield. They have thousands of rolls. That material was the last 6m on the roll and is very 1970s but we loved it the moment we saw it. The owner said that it came from a mill that he had 'cleared' and would have been the 'leader cloth'. So it was a test print onto cloth but only for a run to check the print before being used for paper printing.
I love that pattern!
Nikki tried to get a similar but the sample turned out to be a bit washed out, so I went for a tartan…

We are using ours as seating as well as bedding so I went with 130mm firm v38 foam from the foam shop too.
I find it very comfortable to sit and sleep on.
I have ordered the blue high firm for Nikkis bench/bed…but that was a mistake but she’s happy with it
I must add that the roof height in mine is higher than a standard, about 120mm at the seating area and even higher in the middle as the roof arches

I've spent a few hours tonight looking at how make some and managed to 'borrow' the MIL's machine....whoever invented the needle and thingamajig it goes into was a genius!
