  2. Righty oh boys n' girls

I think it's only 4 Sundays to go to round one and they are filling fast, if your thinking of an entry please do it quickly to avoid diss-apointment...

I would hate to have to reject anyone, it's a terrible thing rejection, on a brighter note though luckily Saley is trained in councilling, mainly sheep but he is trained.....well he talks a lot to his sheep, (they don't fully inderstand him either)...but he can help with rejection however

I can act as a translator for anyone with difficulties....

We have some cute and cunninging specials stages planned and tested, we are well up for the challenge of challenging you and hopefully entertaining you....but you've got to be in it to win it..

Enteries please, before the postal rates go up, this could and should with the scoring system we are using be a very interesting competition or two...

    Come on......

  3. Well boys and girls the applications are coming in thick and fast, so please don't leave it until the last minute, you could be dissapointed. Dan!!!

No 22 could well be gone, those not in the know I'll explain........ it's 2 little ducks from Stoke.....

Mrs Sue Badger is our clerk of the course and is a bit like Arnold Black'n'decker "she won't take no carp", Saley and I have been warned already.

I'll put up the entry numbers shorly and a few bit and pieces about announcements sponsers etc, also some postcodes

Don't forget it's also on Facebook, what the f*** is facebook, anyway it's on there with Mrs B's link....

  4. C'mon people there are a lot of promised enteries not yet arriving and people are asking me for numbers etc, so don't let me down here....

All the details and forms are on the AWDC website (follow the Challenge link), and don't be shy, remember it's for youhoo.....

Christmas is over now, no excuses.....

  5. MrHT Thanks very much for the offer,

Righty oh as promised and thankfully this side of Christmas the online entry and all the rules & regs are on the AWDC website ready for your perusal.

Get your forms in the post, paypal if required will be linked up very shortly, Championship numbers will be issued in due course.

Sorry to end any rumours or hilarity, but the 1st entry recieved and paid for in full was by Mr Barrie Gee, who will be after last years AWDC series win and this years lightening entry be wearing the number 1, we think it could be the only time he see's it this year, it does co-incidentaly also read the same upside down.

Have a great Christmas and New Year and look forward to recieving your entries.

    Thanks Chris.

  6. It doesn't actually suit me to much either, but we decided on it when we wrote the rules and unfortunatley for those with hydrosteer will stand by it now.

There's all sort of arguments we've been through time and time again.

IF we run another next year we will review all the rules but we are totally in the infancy and just trying to put some North of Watford events on.

We've stuck our necks out a lot with this scoring sysyem to see if it levels out the field and have tested it a lot on old results to see how effective it would be and its quite suprising. Just hope it works well.

They said the World was flat, and that you would not be able to breathe at more than 12mph, never mentioned hydrosteer though......

Bob's quite rightly pointed out I spelt Uplands wrong there's only one "P" in it (wait till Saley gets there with his tray of Boddington's Bob and see how many P'ees there are then Pal), and there's no E in Bridgnorth, sorry to all those if I've offended you, English is different up ere, yer know.

Thanks so far for the offers, comments and support.

    Chris

  7. Great to hear your on board Baggy, Barrie's looking forward to a few more Saturday night sessions with you.....

We've stuck our neck out with the scoring system but on looking back through old score sheets and applying this system it should make for some very interesting and very close final scores, not hopefully a predicable as the past, not doubt we will see.

I should hopefully slow down the big tyres and all the toys from automatically winning.

I think it will soon read locker's and we will try and drop the "aftermarket" clause.

    See you soon boyo's

  8. Dan

When did any LR90 leave the factory with a set of Toyota 80 series axles on?

(quote the 2 marshall's at Corwen following an unexpected roll over) "it's them 2 numpties from Stoke-on-Trent"

In reality if we gave you 200 points a punch you'd still be struggling for a place, boy.

    Behave yourself.....

    What's Santa bringing you Dan.....

  9. Due to a lack of Northern events in 2012 John Sales and Chris Booth are pleased to announce

The AWDC Challenge North West Series 2012

This will consist of a new series of 4 events at Northern and Welsh sites, comprising of a 30 vehicle maximum entry.

We are delighted to have the full backing of the AWDC complete with MSA insurance and will basing our rules and technical regulations on the "AWDC Challenger" series

The events will be of a standard format complete with special stages.

The 4 events will be individual rounds along with an overall series trophy to be presented at the end of the year.

We have some exciting new sponsors from the 4x4 world but are keen to attract more and are more than happy to be approached.

It is hoped to strongly promote the social side of these events but they will all be based on a one day only format with camping etc.

We have a mainstream 4x4 magazine keen to feature the different rounds complete with photographs.

These events will be priced a £60 / event and a £20 discount if all 4 are pre paid at £220

The scoring system will be in an attempt to level the playing field as follows

Each punch will be valued according to the vehicle spec.

1 Winch, tyres under 36" (measured) 100 points / punch

Tyres over 36" (measured) -5 points

    Hydro steer -5 points

Extra winches each - 5 points

Diff locks / traction aids (aftermarket) to include fiddle brakes (per axle) -5 points

Portal axles (1 or more) - 5 points

Rear wheel steer - 5 points

    Examples are,

    Standard vehicle 1 winch = 100 points / punch

    With 3 winches and 2 diff locks = 80 points / punch

With 3 winches and 2 diff locks, hydro steer = 75 points per punch

With 3 winches and 2 diff locks, hydro steer and rear steer + 36" + tyres = 60 points / punch

Any person turning up with a standard SJ with a top winch on (i.e. TROPHY HUNTER) will be boo'ed at.

Vehicles will NOT have to be road taxed, MOT'd or insured to compete, but will be subjected to AWDC / MSA regs (please check before entering).

Please show this your full support, we are doing this to put something back into the sport and for competitors from Wales and the North of the country who don't have much to do next year.

We are expecting strong support of the Welsh lads.
