Depends who you are intending to compete with as to which class you will be,
Cage normally makes no difference
Trayback normally makes no difference
Tubular wings normally make no difference
Simex at 34" normally make no difference
Your suspension set up would normally make no difference
Front AND rear winch could move you up a class, unless for an event you disabled one and removed the rope
Check with reg's for event and classes for whichever one your entering

Before I converted to a ZF set up,I simply went along with my bits of pipe and pump to a hydraulic fitter who had an adaptor for the pump and then spliced in and "jointed the original pipe onto his new fitting, cost me peanuts and saved me loads of woes.

From what I saw there was an awful lot of forest unused and a lot of punches crammed together but hey ho I didn't see that much before the CV broke and then back to the trailer along with Barrie Gee and John Sales.
Thought it was the "Gyrator" at first but it was only a CV, then I nearly put it on it's side on the car park, then it fell off the ramps, and then I backed it in the swamp, all of which added to Saleys amusement.
Won't see you at the next round I've got no co-driver yet and then we're off to Russia the day after for our hol's.
Baggy boy'o, Barrie looked chuffed his motor broke Sunday, I think you'd beaten him hands down Saturday night with the beer, he didn't look to enthusiastic on Sunday day.

Let me endorse the "I told it wouldn't be pretty" bit, but what I didn't realise how short of brains and how nervous I looked.....
The kids have now left home following severe loss of street-cred for the family, (never realised we had any), my mothers dis-owned me,
I have the neighbours "gyrating" at me, and the Welsh contingent in the Cul-de-Sac have made me a honoury "brothers of the clan Congleton"......
It's all gone pear shape, so it's back into the inventing shed for a bit of Land Rover therapy......
I tried........................................................................I failed.

It does'nt last 15 minutes, from what I can remember, I couldn't tell you my name, age, sex, colour or even what I was doing there......
And there's classic wrong answer in there, beginning "what G", its bad, very bad.
The LR connection is it was a cunning and clever scheme at winning some money to finance my new set of Boggers....
It failed miserably and I've still got the Simex on, which I like anyway.......

Some time ago in a moment of madness and during a family TV watching session, it was decided that I was to register an interest at becoming a contestant on the BBC quiz "The Weakest Link".
Following a passage of time and a interview/screentest I was invited to take part in the said show at the BBC in Glasgow as a contestant, this has duly taken place and following a telephone call earlier this week I was informed it will be shown on Monday 16th May at 17.15 hrs.
All I can tell you it is not pretty watching a grown man crumble hopelessly on National television and the total loss of any sensible or relevant answer being available to recall at the time, lack of television camera's and pressure my friends is an easy thing, the television studio IS NOT.
So after much consideration and personal debate I thought it only fair to tell my so call "off roading" mates and associates of this future impending screening.
This screening has not been seen my self or my family, and I can only presume will not be pretty.
Make the most, and I have at least told you.

Just watched the truth about Lions and hey ho the 110 they're using has a great big BRITPART sticker down the wing!!!!!

Its looking seriously like the lad and I will be missing this one, which I'm pig sick about....
The company I work for are insisting that I go to a ex-national service camp at Moreton-in-the-Marsh to undertake a 10 day solid training course on how to manage and react to major incidents....
I'm really looking forward to spending 10 days in a WW2 barracks on a camp bed, with the fire brigade, it's right up my street..................................
I've spent the last 18months trying to wriggle out of it but it looks like they've caught me................
Still wriggling Matt, but not looking good........................

P.S. a certain other supplier use to state 12.5 litres/min which always was b***s**t, and apparantly drilling out the outlet doesn't do much at all, according to the flow rigs, but I'll not argue that one.

Splash guard, Coke/Lemonade bottle works great,
Seal as best as possible dizzy and screws with Silcone sealer
Silicone GREASE is the trick, its expensive but works and is used in industry for sealing as well,good stuff, put some in your plug caps to, to seal them.
9 fingered gloves are advertised in most of the Landy mags in the small ads.........

Best advice, go and watch and you will answer all your own questions, get there early and speak to some of the crews BEFORE they start, and stick around at the end.

Before I happened to come across a Warn M8000 for a centre, I used an 8274 as a rear or centre, this was achieved by mounting a bar above it, and a Fairlead that the hook would pass through feed under the drum and then thread around the bar this then fed to another Fairlead that a hook can pass through on the rear top cage, worked a treart.
Cetainly easier to use than explain.
Between a rear or a centre, without shadow of a doubt REAR.......

Just be wary how much rope you can get on the Red or the Milemarker, I know the Saley holds easily 150ft of 12mm and will adapt a drum to any length, just look at the length of the Mitsimogs.

in Competing in Land Rovers

If the selection process is fair and sound then the idea is go'er for me, the problem I can foresee is massive difference in talent and capability of both driver and vehicle.
You could be putting some very inexperienced crews upagainst some of the best in the country depending on what the level was that got them there.
You wouldn't put Port Vale straight in against the Brazilian National team just because they both won their leagues, it could be a bit tricky, and at level do you set the event out at.
Teams that perhaps not as experienced or technically capable could be pressured into making poor or risky decisions through pride or perhaps expectation.
To be fair Colin (Scorpion) did a lot to promote the sport (I know you all have your views as to why, and please keep them for now) but the Eurotrial was a prime example with a band on on, hospitality, vendors on site, barbeque, beer tent and so on, but he was heading, like it or not in the right direction.
To compete and go home with a prize was also a boost, it might of been naff but so what, I won worklights, strops, waffles, pair of shocks etc, and really felt good for them, bull****e you might think but it worked for me.
So yes if it's suits and it is done in the right way and is not going to spoil other people series's then why not, the sport needs something to attract some interest from the masses.
