  3. Hi Mods had a brain fart !!! can someone move this into Defender forum, rather that Discovery,
  4. Mark,, have seen new TD5's (ie 56 plate) with local dealer fit lamps, and no separate switch as mog said,, a TD5 loom fits straight across
  5. Well you know what mines doing worst about 17.5 towing etc,, best so far 22.5 110 XS, 3500 miles, all standard, bar full size Patriot roof rack
  6. Mark,, £ 50 From Here,, but only first one i found the TD5 fitted mine no problem
  7. Regret not Mark ,, the lamps and loom fell off the 90 Silver The dash switch is the same as in TD5 , loom comes up from batt box, to the front end underneath the car,, with a spur off to the centre console, then onto the main beam feed behind the instruments Must have taken a quarter of the time, that making a loom up, when i did the Hybrid
  8. Rich,, take it back, and get them to do it correctly,, you have paid for it !! unless you asked for a quick job !! When i did mine on the 07,, used a Gen loom, a doddle,, and give's you a separate override switch,
  9. All A bit of help please,, Finally getting round to fitting the Military/Wolf doors to the Hybrid I have a couple of r/hand ones ?? with 2 types of catch !! and would prefer to fit the top type, with the safety catch, but not too bothered which,, the lock barrels would be useful ?? what i am looking for is part number or supplier for the locks, as well as the door strikers to match Unless someone has a left hand one,,, looking for a good home
  10. As you say Chris,, Jobs-a-good-un Same fitting as for a 07 Puma Defender, can be easy done in a hour or so,

    SNOW

Just very wet here,,and flooding,, the Sport's winch got a soaking this evening
  13. Rich I spend a lot of time and expense on this subject over the years,, I can only speak re Volvo, but, even before block exemption,, , it was the customers choice as to where his vehicle was serviced , so long as it was done to manufacturers service specification, with as you say "'suitable quality'" the vehicle would still be covered under the makers standard warranty, I would always play safe and use "Genuine Branded Parts" The Sport has been serviced "outside" the dealer network, and has been back for warranty items recently, with no problem, With the RAC Insurance warranty you have,, most used car warranties are the same, they will only pay out, if the item that has "mechanically broken down" is listed in the policy, also they will stipulate the service interval margins, normally 10 days either side of due time,, the fact that window regulators are not a service item, has nothing to do with it,, the policy conditions were broken by late servicing Like most insurance policies, if they can get out of paying, they will try,, have a case at the moment with a V70 AWD,, the front angle drive stripped the teeth of the pinion,, the warranty firm are claiming the vehicle was drive after the event,,!! like yes,, about 200 yards out of the outside lane, onto the hard shoulder !!
  14. Is this a trick question bushy Ok, i'll bite,, check the door post switches i can see me editiing this later
  15. Not had a good look, hence i said it "looks" like the ABS, as its marked walbro or similar,, tis dark out their you know !!
  16. Stephen The point was being made about wading depths, and why Landrover have told Mantec not to made any kits for them, as i quote from Mantec "The new 07 Defenders do not require wading kits, this has been confirmed by Land Rover" !!! this was followed by but also maybe by the position of the ecu The 07's ecu, is about 20" higher that the TD5's,, be it under the bonnet Not a lot to do with sitting on a bonnet at 40
  17. Only control unit under the r/h seat, looks to be the ABS ecu,, the engine unit is high up on the engine bay bulkhead !!
  18. Which is actually higher on puma than Td5
  19. I run a CF18, which has been bounced around the cockpit of the boat , on more that one occasion, let alone getting a tad on the damp side,, still works fine
  20. Steve,, not quite the answer i was looking for A mail from Mantec, when i asked the question :?:
  21. Bad practice for me to mention names,, But, would second Mark90 ^^^^ advise not a good name locally
  22. The reason i ask is that i was speaking to mantec earlier today, ordering some bits, including a wading kit,, they have been told by Land Rover that new 07 Defenders do not require wading kits,
  23. Surpose Murphy will be along some time
  24. It would seam Landrover have decided that the new 07 Defenders do not require wading kits,
