  1. A camper version might be more viable as the only market I can see for it at present is tree surgeon. But I do quite like it styling aside. Mike
  2. Only a few days left to get your bookings in see you there. Mike
  3. I've got until the weekend after next (before the 2nd) to get this sorted but it needs to be known good as I hadn't noticed a problem with this one yet he picked it up. Worst case I'll swap it with the one on the 110. Mike
  4. Yeah I've only just changed the one on the 110 from 3 to 4 bolt. So I have a spare 3 bolt but not a 4 bolt. TSD has said I can borrow the one off 2bex if need be but I will look for one on the basis that this one may not be long for this world if I refit it after the IVA. Mike
  5. To be honest I was hoping for the best but fearing the worst. As usual the only bit I don't have a spare for is the steering box. Mike
  6. The white gunk is aluminium corrosion it's where it's sat with water with little or no antifreeze in it. It should just wash out but you will see some pitting left afterwards. It shouldn't be a problem unless it's got really bad pitting. Mike
  7. Well it's not the pump so I guess I'll be swapping the box out. Mike
  8. Ed, He's a land rover man....That ain't going to work. It's difficult to tell with the engine off as everything is heavier and slower. Mike
  9. More of a pulsing and it's only returning from full right hand lock quickly. To be honest at first I couldn't find any thing wrong so didn't know what he picked up. Mike
  10. Not bushes or mechanical part of the steering (haven't ruled out damper yet but was new 2 years ago). I can make it judder while jacked up it's only on right hand lock. Fluid was filled two years ago (hasn't been driven yet really) and system is as it should be. Mike
  11. That was next but ran out of day light last night. Mike
  12. The IVA man picked up an issue with the steering on the ibex. No problem I thinks that will be a seized uj easy fix.... fast forward a couple of weeks new uj's are here must do that. Well it wasn't the uj's so here's what's happening whined on full right hand lock then turn it back towards centre quite quickly and you get a judder. It doesn't happen if you go from lock to lock normally nor on left hand lock. I've let the drag link go doesn't seem to be in the axle so that leaves the box, pump or damper(which is new but has been sat a while). Anyone else have this problem? If so what was it I'm thinking I need to change steering box. Mike
  13. The one James gave you is what they normally look like. The larger one looks more like a 130 prop. So assuming they are the same length then fit James's. Your original could be a cut down 130 one or just some sort of heavy duty one I haven't seen before. Mike
  14. It worked fine but I extended the rack to fit a 110 and decided the other way was better. Mike
  15. The rack I made had a similar clamp arrangement but just had holes not slots drilled slightly high so as to pull up as you tightened. I later changed them to brownchurch style. Mike
  16. If you don't off road and just want them for looks you might get away with no lift but they will rub occasionally. Mikè
  17. I'm pretty sure our 90 has one. If not the 110 does, one of them does anyway. It pushes into the cowl under the wing at the fan end. The idea is to deflect rain water away from the fan. Mike
  18. A lap belt is a seat belt so yes that's fine. Mike
  19. Thanks will come have a rumage. I looked at the puma blowers but they spin the opposite direction so you need the snail as well. Interestingly in all the blowers I looked at they all looked basicly the same. The fan part look identical across the board (apart from most being opposite rotation) and the motors look to be similar size just plastic. Mike
  20. Put new tyres on at standard pressure drive along a dusty road. You should see a strip of dust down the middle of the tyre the out side edges will still be clean. Reduce the pressure, clean the tyres and repeat. After a few goes you will see the dust right the way across the tread. At this point your about there you may need to do the front or back more but you get the point. This how we used to set slicks on my brothers race car. For reference I run about 25 front and 30 rear in 285/75x16's on a 90. I do tend to run them on the high side as I drive quite enthusiastically. Mike
  21. The good news is I'm pretty sure I know what the problem with the heater fan was. The bad news is when I put the fan direct across a battery to test it the smoke got out....... so has anyone got one going cheap and local. Failing that I might try a freelander 2 blower as they spin the same way as defender (unlike most blowers) and they are around £20 S/H. A defender one on the other hand only seem to be new and between £50 and £150. Mike
  22. To be honest the examiner told me to complain anyway so if nothing else it may get his point across. I'm not looking for compensation (though it would be nice). I just think we don't complain properly in this country therefore nothing changes. Mike
  23. I will put in a formal complaint once I'm through. Mike
  24. Continuation of IVA test booked for 2nd July at 12.30. Good job I'm not in a hurry.... they don't even have a cancellation list so I've got to keep phoning to see if an earlier one has opened up. Mike
  25. I have an electric fan on the 110 (disco 200tdi) it's on a manual switch. The only time I need it is when towing but I wouldn't be without a fan. On the ibex I've drilled and tapped the thermostat housing for a temperature switch. This seems to work really well (only driven it a few times as it's not registered yet). However I do need to change it for a higher temperature range as it cuts in to early. Mike
