Be good to see you there.

Leaving the seal out will allow axle oil to lubricate the wheel bearing. The good news is generally the bearings last longer like this. The bad news is like this there is only one seal keeping the oil in the axle so any play will lead to a leak. Either way will work there is nothing wrong with two seals and grease lubrication or one seal and oil lubrication.

No hurry gents I've got plenty of other things to sort.
On that note I've got the winch dash switch fitted along with;
A 12v socket.
CB radio though no ariel yet.
Radio
And a clock (that's not working at the moment).
Oh and a pair of tie down points in the boot that I would happily lift the car on.

Chris your a star I'll take you up on that. Not sure when I'll see you next but there's no rush. I maybe at newbury in sept or our seven sisters event is in October this year but I'm not sure if I'll make it this year.

Not sure but what I do know is I like 1.4 and 33's. 1.2 on 31's was ok on my disco. So I guess 35's and a 1.6 would be similar to 33's and 1.4.

The tyres on there came with the wheels. They are km1's loads of tread but quite old so I would be looking to swap them for 33's or sell them and buy some 33's.
I don't like the gearing at present I'm always between gears and rarely use 5th. I knew this would be the case when I bought them but love the look so went with it. Also I suspect I will have some rubbing when the suspension is flexed, don't get me wrong I'm happy to trim for clearance. Transfer box would be a good solution but they seem to be expensive these days. Axle ratio is always going to be a pain because the rear is a Salisbury.
I guess it comes down to what becomes available at the right price.
They looks pretty good on 33's as well so I'm not worried for looks.

Disco gearbox and 110 transfer box. It's all a bit pie in the sky as I can't afford to do anything at the moment.

Trouble I have is the gearing is to high and I'm running standard axles.

34s?
Not helping.......
I'm also not sure which width to go for if I drop to 33's. 12.50 33 15 or 10.50 33 15 the 35's are 12.50 but they do stick put a little so 10.50 should tuck in nicely and I suspect they will look very similar to the 285/75x16's on 45.

Not quite. On 33's the approach angle is 80°. I'm on 35's at the moment not sure whether to stay on these or drop to 33's.

Assuming your engine has the same vac pump as a 200tdi. You should have enough vacuum on the pipe to suck your finger on (imagine sucking down a straw with your finger on the end). If you have this your pump is fine so a new servo is needed.

Get any funny looks?
Not as many as I expected but I think the colour helps it blend in a bit, that and the fact it looks a bit like a g wagon.

Clutch seems to be sorted. The fan switch is coming on to early. Will have a good check over when I get home.

Well I got to work. The fan was wired the wrong way round, well that or I put it on the wrong side. The clutch started slipping on The way in but I think it's due to the pedal not returning properly. So I've liberally lubed and we'll see what home time brings.

To elaborate a little more tomorrow will be the first legal drive (to work). The registration number turned up the Fay before I went to Yorkshire for two weeks with the caravan. I was hoping to take the ibex but towing a caravan to Yorkshire as a first drive is probably not the greatest idea. So now you will all understand why I could order plates online and not run to the motor factors so I could drive it. The plates were sat on the mat when I got home today along with the v5. Yes I did go and fit them before I'd finished unpacking 45. Oh and to add insult to injury something came adrift in the 110's bell housing three days before we left so I had to quickly swap the tow hitch on to 45 and fit the second trailer socket to power the caravan. Guess what I'll be doing later this week.

Happy to hold in Southampton but I doubt that helps much.

If you look to the marine sector you will find all sorts but your wallet might not like you.

That good then I don't need to fix mine then.

Haven't they just added the reverse light to the MOT in the recent changes though.

It is possible to have a leak from water to oil in the radiator. Easy test would be to disconnect the oil pipes and link together with a bit of hose. I would double hose clip them though as you can dump rather a lot of oil in a very short time through those pipes. Or just fit another rad.

Possibly not sure at the moment I do have some highly valuable parts to move on.

Is the tank vacuuming while it's knocking try removing the filler cap. If you get a sharp intake or can't get the cap off the breather is blocked and the pump is trying to turn the tank inside out.

From memory it is possible to remove the bezel and glass clean and refit. Some twist to a set point then prize off. Others have tabs or indents to prize over.
