There isn't much aftermarket for the P38 that isn't horrendously expensive. But building a winch mount isn't too hard, there's plenty of room between the chassis legs.

And they do alright off road...

I'll vouch for that it's only when it's under water do we have to recover him.

There is something else to check, from what you have said, you have tried a few antennas and the results are similar but it was working before.

Is it possible that part of your re chassis work involved other changes? did you replace any lights with LED, have you fitted anything like a usb charger, some electrical accessories can create local noise which interferes with the radio reception. Things like power adapters for satnavs / phone chargers are all prime candidates.

Interestingly I discovered this at work this week. I wired up some led lights on a boat (24v and the boats not plugged in to the mains). The radio is a mains dab 25ft away. When you turn the lights on the radio goes quiet with some interference noises, turn the lights off the radio is fine again.

    Headlight adjusted.

    Emissions ok.

    Brakes work and even.

Need a new grommet for the fuel filler neck.

Need to remove the guide on the diff for the track bar as it rubs.

Other than that he said it was well built and passed it.

The other thing I spotted is the seat hits the seatbelt so need a stop in the runner.

  4. Doug when you get a chance can you put a tape measure over the width of those. That way I can compare yours to my 35's real world measurements. I may well keep the 35's if it drives ok with them.

  6. I've got 255x85/16 on the 110 and 285x75/16 on 45 both around 33". It's the 15's that I'm interested in as I know the written measurement doesn't necessarily match with actual size. I'm keeping the mach 5's so hence the sizing I'm referring to. The 35's are 12.50 but they stick out of the arches a little. This makes me thing the 10.50's might be the way to go. The only fly in the ointment being I don't know what width the rims are.

  7. Has anybody got pictures of 33x12.50/15 or 33x10.50/15 on vehicles. I'm considering dropping size on the ibex as 35" are not really required for my use. Comparison pics would be good to. Many thanks

To be fair to LR, they didn't actually say they were doing anything epic yesterday other than adding a youtube video, run of the mill marketing stuff.  It would have been one of the lamest vehicle launches ever if that's how they introduced the new 'Defender'..

With an incomplete and unstaffed factory, they aren't going to be in a position to do anything for months yet.

True but even as a celebration it was a bit lame. I mean it's 70 years!
