  1. There are several captive nut plates in land rovers. rear hinges, striker plates etc. The other option is one bit of 6mm+ plate with a hole drilled and tapped then. A second plate then sealed and fixed over the hole. You can then either Rivet, bolt, screw or glue the whole thing in place.

  2. Rivet a flat plate on the inside with blind tapped holes in it don't forget some sealer. Then all you would have on the outside is some holes which you could leave open or put some short mushroom heads in. This would allow you the bolt your brackets back on whenever you want.

  3. Sounds normal to me I also tow heavy loads with an older vehicle. My gearbox does get quite hot. The engine fan is electric and manually switched if I don't keep an eye on it it will creep past 3/4 on the temp gauge but flick the fan on and it starts coming down.

  4. I've had several dumb questions but no still waiting. It would appear even though you have to give both a phone number and email they can only contact you via post which takes a week each time. I've even replied to their question via email and they still posted the second set of questions. I may well complain about the whole process once I get my registration as it's a mess from start to finish.

  5. The rules changed just after I put mine back on the road I even had to wait a week because the Vic was about to go a week later. I sure there is a way to check online what write off marker it has.

If you really want to proceed with the 90 plan then buy a 90 and add the good bits off the 110. That way you should keep the 90's ID and be able to sell 110/90 parts not required to fund it. Plus you will be able to comply with the cod.

  6. Cat C can be put back on the road no problem, I have. Cat B is parts only cat A is must be crushed. However this category system doesn't exist any more but I can't remember the replacement. If rebuilt as a 110 with either the original or a new chassis it will keep its registration. Only a second hand chassis or change it wheelbase would earn you a  Q plate but even then they will try to give you an age related plate. To be honest if you want to build a 90 then start with one. Starting with a 110 is going to be a world of stupid little parts you have forgotten.

  7. Early 90s have smaller calipers as do discoverys/range rovers. From memory all the front discs are the same size and offset (rears varie). All rover axles have the same caliper mounting holes. My ibex has 110 calipers on a discovery axle that had vented discs on it.

  8. With a booked club stand its about £200 for two people. This includes; entrance with a display car for 3 days, you must be there from 10-5 but racing doesn't finish till at least 6 sat it's 9. Camping at woodlands site we stay Thursday night through till Sunday (there is cheaper sites but woodlands is easy).

Entrance does cover everything infield, paddocks, pits, grandstands, fun fair the lot. Access is everywhere literally. This year I took all my own food the whole 3 days I spent £4 on a bacon roll that I didn't need but wanted so much:ph34r:
