  1. Hi Giles, Welcome to the forum. My first question is have you ever driven a Defender? As an every day driver people love & loathe them in equal measure. Not trying to put you off but if you haven't driven one I'd try to arrange that before spending £12k. Edit: Oops, posted at the same time as Mike. ^^^ What he said.
  2. Could someone please confirm the part number of the universal joints for the rear prop on a 2000 110 commercial (Salisbury axle if it makes any difference)? I think the part number is TVC100010 but would appreciate it if a grown up would check. Thanks very much, Mick.
  3. On the off chance that anyone else reads this I can confirm that the WE1 function works a treat. Superb if you are a MS muppet like me
  4. Thinking about this, surely if the engine is turning over it can't be the earth? With the plugs energised have you checked that you have a supply to all of them?
  5. Damn, actually don't look at Megasquirt-v8.co.uk it's a terrible idea. Let me know when you want to sell the 90. I fancy a supercharged trayback
  6. Welcome to the forum. As Phil has eluded to this is a very common problem for the LR V8 when running Lucarse OEM electrics. Who's going to mention Megasquirt first? Oh, I did Where are you based Fantic Man? If you let us know I'm sure someone with a 'squirted V8 will take you for a run & scare you to death demonstrate the capabilities of a waterproof V8. Mick.
  7. Is the indicator stalk on my 2000 Ex TD5. Would anyone have the part number for the complete assembly please? Thanks in advance, Mick.
  8. Oh great, more settings to bugger play about with Cheers for the above, big help that.
  9. Evening Chaps, I think I'm suffering from what Nige describes as trying to balance a three legged stool. Using a "Safe" 4.6 map with the timing corrected for my engine (trigger wheel is about 4 degrees out) I get a lot of hunting around whilst at idle with the engine warming up. If I enrich the cells in the VE table that are being visited at idle I can stop the hunting & get a good idle through out the warm up but as soon as I run TunerStudio with a warm engine it keeps lowering the values in these cells to get the air fuel ratio back on target. I think I should leave the VE Table alone & change the values in the "Warm Up Wizard" table to get around this but it doesn't seem to have the same effect. The difference in cell value between a map that gives good idle & a map that doesn't is around 50% (36 to 50 in the VE table cells) does that mean I need to adjust the enrichment in the WUW from 120% @ 10 degrees C to 170%? Finding that the WUW is a bit of a bugger as you only get 1 go at it in a day Can anyone confirm that this is the correct thing to be looking at please? Thanks, Mick.
  10. http://www.megasquirt-v8.co.uk/diff_offroad.php 2nd item
  11. Treat yourself to one of the Megasquirt wash / wipe upgrades . You can remove the existing washer jet by giving it a sharp sideways tap with a hammer. New kit can then be fitted by removing nothing more than the ash tray. After 15 mins work you end up with washers that actually work.
  12. I know MS can handle nitrous injection, just wondering if anyone on here has played with it on a LR?
  13. Wow, Thanks very much for all the information chaps, given me tonnes to read up on whilst bored over Christmas
  14. Evening, Just refreshing my memory with regards to tuning, reading the manual it states that narrow band sensors shouldn't be used for tuning the higher cells of the ve table due to the risk of melting a piston or 3 I'm currently using a FuelParts 86400 4 wire sensor which I think is narrow band? Assuming it is can anyone recommend a wide band please? Intention is to use it for a spell whilst tuning on road then replace it with the NB. Cheers & Merry Christmas Mick.
  15. Hadn't noticed that What else would you expect on a £26,000 car?
  16. Following on from my "195 BHP From a TD5" thread & to prove I'm not biased about diseasels (ok I am) How about this claim: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-LR-90-Defender-Beast-4-6-engine-/221559724247?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3395fd18d7 £26k for a Q plate?!
  17. Shouldn't imagine my squirted 4.6 is putting out 300 BHP. (250 maybe) Can't think for the life of me how you would get that from a TD5. Even if you spend £960 on a set of head studs!
