  1. Without wishing to get sued by the above company I could give you paper work saying my Wife's Jimnny is putting out 300 BHP Good point Phil, don't worry, I wasn't thinking of going over to the dark side.
  2. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DEFENDER-110-195BHP-TD5-AUTO-Double-Cab-LR53-MUD-/261677670415?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3ced34600f Ok... 195 BHP from a TD5? Is that in any way realistic?
  3. In the application I was talking about in my original post I couldn't get a ratcheting ring spanner in as the stud & nut were too close to the bend of the manifolds. I could get an open ended spanner on but it was a royal pain in the arse to take the spanner off after each part turn, relocate the spanner and start again. I'm going to buy a set & give them a go.
  4. Thanks Chaps. Santa invariably brings a Halfrauds voucher or two for some reason so I'll pick up a set.
  5. Was under the bonnet trying to run up the brass nuts on the underside of tubular exhaust manifolds at the weekend, thought something like these would have saved me throwing spanners down the drive
  6. Anyone tried spanners like this for those hard to get at bolts? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ratchet-Wrench-spanner-Set-8pc-SATA-Open-End-/281502613821?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Other_Vehicle_Parts_Accessories_ET&hash=item418add013d Any use or load of carp? Not expecting them to shift a tight bolt.
  7. Reason I asked was I have some you could have had if you were closer.
  8. Have you checked what fuel pressure you have at the plenum?
  9. Thanks very much Will. Much appreciated
  10. Thought I'd post this for anyone reading this thread that may be considering the same exhaust. Fitted this to my 2000 110 4.6. The kit fitted fine & didn't require any fettling apart from the fact that non of the exhaust mountings can be used with the mounting points on what used to be a Td5 (Obviously the kit isn't designed to fit a Td5 era truck!) but if you have a Tig set you can soon sort that. Acoustically the exhaust is what I was looking for, at idle it's nice and quiet giving a pleasant V8 burble, stamp on the loud pedal & you can certainly hear the V8 make it's signature tune but it doesn't make you sound like a chav in his Corsa with the silencers removed All in all, recommended if you don't want to awaken the dead!
  11. Does anyone on here have a standard Disco 2? ? If so could you please give me a rough measurement of how high the boot floor is off the ground? Need to replace the wife's Jimmny but a bit worried a Disco 2 might be a bit tall for the dogs to jump into. Cheers, Mick.
  12. I know one of the X Deflex anti-roll bars fits a 2000 110 TD5 as I used to have one (don't ask) The problem is I can't remember which one I bought. Foundry are offering a few different options (with varying sizes of spacers) but all of them say they aren't for the TD5. Anyone know? I want to order one on line as I go away for a few days on Monday & may not get the chance to give them a call.
  13. If the master & slave cylinders are in good order & the system has been bled properly the only other thing I can think of would be a problem with the clutch fork or actuator rod. When you changed the slave cylinder did the "piston" stay attached to the clutch fork or did it fall out?
  14. ^^^ As above, multi meters can be very misleading, Test lamp is the way to go.
  15. Cheers Rob, Exhaust arrived today & I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality. I've pushed all the sliding joints together & wrapped the manifolds tonight. Just need to butcher modify the "Y" piece for the lambda sensor tomorrow & hope to fit it on Sunday Cheers for the recommendation guys.
  16. Cheers chaps. Ordered the exhaust & stud kit tonight. Quick couple of questions for those that have already fitted this: Did you use any exhaust sealant on any of the sliding joints or was it ok steel to steel? What thread is needed for the boss for the lambda probe as suppled by HFH? Mick.
