  1. Mikey, Any Idea where from, as i have looked but can't seem to find any? John
  2. I've got Halfords boxes-3 of them(top middle and bottom) and I now find I need more space for more tools lol, but on a serious note I'm 5'6" tall and have to use a caravan step to be able to see into the top of the top box properly It's total height is getting on for about 5' 10" tall so going wider may have to be the way ahead, I've seen some nice wide-ish tool boxes on the machine mart web site and they look ideal for what I need, I'd love it for one of the manufacturers to come up with another box that fits on the side making the bottom box wide and as deep as the bottom box is now that'd solve my dilemma with having to buy another set of boxes-I'll seriously have to think about if I really could do with the hassle and cost of getting another pair of top and bottom boxes and even If I was to get them it'd have to be on one of those VAT free weekends too. John
  3. Aha Tony, Welcome to the forum mate, and let the information wash over you-like an over flowing cup, Sri lanka's not that sunny either lol-off to Cairo next mate.... John
  4. Oops .. famous last words there Nigel on the similar lines of "what could possibly go wrong" lol John
  5. Hi all, I don't usually post here I usual am elsewhere lurking and posting, I wonder if someone would be good enough to answer a question or two from a mate of mine I work with-he has a disco 3 and has asked the following: 1. Am I right in that the body sits on those big orange washers? How easy is it to replace a damaged one, without removing the body?? 2. Replacing bushes, front/back and steering, how difficult a job? I will endeavour to get him on here-I did tell him where to go but he may have forgotten the web adress Any help as per the norm gratefully received John
  6. 1/8 NPT from memory, I went and did the exact same as yourself hence why i know what the size is. hth John
  7. Having said that i recently went for my driving licence renewing and the post office bloke asked if the photo was from when i was in prison Blimey I would die if any of my landys were stolen and always try to buy things all above board. Even if i do pay more for them but i also try to use reputable sellers Agreed John
  8. Nige, Thanks for doing that he was starting to be a pain as per the norm!, and as far as my original question was an observation from a friend, I'm glad there are some/most of us who are straight down the line as regards to stolen bit's for Land Rovers, many thanks for all who've contributed to the thread-If anyone else wants to contribute please feel free, It'll be interesting as to see what others have to say about it. I agree about e-bay maybe being to blame and also the fact that the show being small/not worth it for many traders at Eastnor but I'm hoping as I quite like it there it'll pick up again next year John
  9. Has anyone else noticed that when you've been to an autojumble like I did over the weekend at the Eastnor show that there is and was a lack of Land Rover autojumble available?, A friend who I went with made an off hand remark about maybe it was because of the lack of stolen gear available-i.e:. with regards to the police clamping down on it then there'll less available for joe public to buy! Now not everyone will be selling stolen parts at an autojumble and i apologise to those that are cosher-But what she said did make sense. What do you think? John
  10. Mike, Have a check of your chassis to engine earth strap as I had a similar problem to you a while ago, I would press the brake pedal and all sorts of lights came up on the dash-even with the ignition off, if you're unsure of where to find it-look along the chassis rail near to the exhaust is and see if It's attached on the block somewhere hth John
  11. Badger, How long have you had them?, The reason I ask Is I've now got two of Gwyns props(bailey morris made ones) one wide angle rear and a double cardon one for the front and won't be extreme with them-I was sick and tired of rebuilding second hand stuff I had lying about so i went for new hence why I was asking about how long you'd had them. John
  12. Same as when I dealt with Diesel bob's too
  13. How long and how hard have you worked it? John
  14. Last time I had a problem with an FIP I sent it to deisel bobs somewhere in lancashire-It was back with me in 3-4 days if i remember rightly, I paid the postage up and he paid it back to me: http://www.dieselbob.co.uk/ The problem with it was-it sheared a spring off internally, removed 4 teeth from my cambelt and bent 7 out of the 8 pushrods About £280+vat rebuilt and It's been spot on ever since Straight talking no nonsense kind of bloke, If I have any more problems with any of my fuel system like the injectors etc. then they'll be going there! John
  15. I've just bought from Gwyn lewis a wide angle prop for the rear and it's spot on-these are made by bailey morris for them anyway, they do have from what I can remember HD UJ's in them John
  16. I would still check at a stand still with the engine off to see if the pedal sticks to the floor mat as I've had this once or twice in my 15+ years of owning land rovers The floor mat moves forward allowing the pedal to be trapped when you floor it as the mat gets kinked up at the bulkhead end of the footwell John
  17. Yep, and go direct to Adwest and get a new one for less the price of a rebuilt one from paddocks et-al, I've had mine on my 90 for well over a year and sof far its been as good as gold John
  18. X-eng pedal locks are the dogs danglies John
  19. That would definitely say to me the cap seal wasn't doing what It's supposed to do-Seal! have you by any chance got access to another fuel cap and see if that makes any difference-perhaps borrow one from somewhere? John
  20. Ralph, did you fit the drive member with 4 of the bolts tightened up-torqued up too and then try it with the bolt as I described above? the reason I ask is because I had problems in the past and what caused it was the drive member not being fully home-If you get what I'm saying? Too much sealant or too thick a gasket perhaps? John
