  1. Very nice looking 130!! Looks kind of familiar to my 127
  2. Sounds like a well thought out plan I'll be recognizable by a big yellow 127 V8 with foreign plates
  3. If you need any other rescue/tow vehicle. I've got a properly build 127 with 350 V8 and a proper winch., Ill be around as a spectator and happy to help out! I've done a lot of recovery in the past and will bring my recovery pole etc
  4. Only 250 miles further (forth and back) from dover for me, but I don't really care! I'm going to King of the Valleys!! :D :D And will bring lots of dutch beers I will be arriving thursday evening, so proably will be the first there Any tips for sight seeing/greenlaning on friday? (as qualifying only starts in the evening).
  5. That's not good, took some days off, booked the boat tickets, and now I won't be able te make it
  6. X-eng is the best solution I've ever used, it works really well on and off road especially with lifted/heavy vehicles
  7. The one way valve is only a few months old and working fine. it is just that after a few times of fast braking at stationary speed, I loose power. So that's the reason I;m looking towards a vacuumpump.
  8. Thx for the input, I will go and look for a purpose electric vacuumpump
  9. 4143 pulses per kilometer for my 36 inch tires, together with à 23 teeth speedo gear
  10. I've found out today that the discovery speed transducer ( YBE100540 ) two wire sensor gives 2 times as many pulses as a defender one. It is a HALL sensor, but just with two wires, one attached to the speedo end one to the switched +. It works great together with my Caerbont Automotive speedo!
  11. In my 350 powered 127 I'm not yet satisfied by the stopping abilites. I've fitted a TD5 ABS double servo to a non ABS system, which gives some extra omph. The brakes lock up fine when I'm driving on the highway (4 smoking 36m inch tires) or around town. But when manouvring offroad I miss some extra assist. This is probably because I'havent got a lot of vacuum at all especially at WOT. This is because of a special high performance camshaft. So I'm playing with the idea to put an electric vacuumpump paralel to the exisiting system with a one-way valve to the manifold in that way I've always got enough vacuum pressure. Please your opinions about this solution? And is there a standard what the vacuum should be normally for braking? can I measure this? Cheers Bowy
  12. I've got a TH400 behind my 350 and it works fine together with LT230. For more info about the conversion search for BIC 127 in the projects forum. I've got a 727 lying around with a conversionsplate to 350 chevy and adapter to LT230. You can have it if you like (I can bring it to Billing which I will be attending). This 727 wsa the one I was planning to fit, but then I bought a complete donor driveline with a TH400 attached so went for that. Cheers Bowy
  13. Thank you CrazyWabbit, Do you maybe know which wire to connect where? I've got 2 wires coming from the sensor? Any tips how I can measury which is which? As input for my speedo I can choose from two flavours: HALL effect or Low voltage, I think I have to wire it up to the Hall Effect? Did some more measuring: Tire rolling circumference is 268 cm so (100000 / 268=373) * 3.54 = 1320.89 propshaft turns per kilometer. When turning the propshaft by hand it takes about 2,55 turns to make one full sensor input gear rotation. So 1320.89 / 2.55 = 517.996 for one full sensor rotation. So 517.996 * 4 or 8 ? (2071.98 pulses or 4143.96 pulses per kilometer?)
  14. Its à Caerbont automotive speedo from demontweaks. So suitable die this 2 wire sensor I presume?
  15. I've just fitted an electronic speedo to my 127/ I've sourced a pulse sensor from a disco 300tdi and fitted it to my gearbox. So ready to program the speedometer! I've got 36 inch tires with a 3,54 ratio and a 1.001 ratio transfer box. I think the pulse sensor gives 8 puse per revolution. But what is the ratio between the sensor and propshaft? If I know that I will be able to calculate to pulses needed. Who can help me out? Cheers Bowy
  16. Hi Steve, What do you mean by the 10as unit? Bowy
  17. Hi Steve, What do you mean by the 10as unit? Bowy
  18. Mike, Steve, Thank you for your input! Looks it goed very well! NICE! As I understand it doesn't really matter if I buy a disco or defender engine as long as I get a 15P or later one. And use a defender loom and ECU? That makes things a lot easier! Now I only have to find one with a known history! Bowy
  19. The questions: Which engine should be preferred? - TD5 pre or after 2001? Or doesn't it matter? - Disco donor TD5 an option? Or should I look for a Defender one. - If fitted with a VVT turbo, should I change the ECU? Probably more questions will pop up along the way, please feel free to add.
  20. I've been competing with a discovery for a few years. It has evolved from this disco with a 300tdi to this with a rover v8 But since then we had loads of problems with the v8 so we would like to go back to a diesel but still have some proper powerr. Fitting shouldnt be a problem I think, have done a few conversions including to a 350 fuel injected one. So we would like to fit a TD5: Offcourse I've searched a bit about these engines and the conversion, but haven't found all the answers I was looking for so I hopen you lot can help me out. All will be coupled to a uprated ZF gearbox with the compushift. Goal is to have a competitive car for local challenges but also for foreign ones like Croatia. Please give your opinion/discuss. Cheers Bowy
  21. Yep, send Si an email, he is always very hulpful and replies fast. I've used a 3 mm spacer on my HD 127 chassis. Cheers Bowy
  22. Jep that was me! Bright Yellow series with à hard top! Now à 127 with the same color a bigger engine
  23. Last year I bought a mid sized abrasive blasting cabinet, wouldn't want to miss it anymore, very handy for cleaning up old rusty parts. Bowy
  24. Sadly the BN like it used to be isn't anymore. Loved the event a lot! Even then with my unlocked series with toyo axles and 35 inch simex had some great fun at the XX-treme course and made lots of new friends! Cheers Bowy
