El Tee,
What kind of setup is your vehicle?
stationwagon, pickup or something else. A swb with a stationwagon and a LPG tank sometimes has this problem.
Do you still have the standard engine in it?

ps Goed je hier ook eens te zien
HI,
I'm in the middle of building a new tunnel for our disco but now the high low lever on top of the LT77 is 2 inches to short for our purpose. So I would like to lengthen en bend it a bit. Is this normal iron (weldable/bendable) or a special kind of iron which isn't very weldable???
Thx for the input!
Cheers Bowy
I'm in the middle of a 200tdi disco engine to defender conversion. While I'm working on the car I decided to change the timing belt. When I removed the timing cover I discovered a quite oily inside. This isn't coming from the crank seal (what you would expect) but from the camshaft pulley . There probably is a seal behind this pully? Is this easy to replace? Does this happen often? never heard off before......

What are the differences between a salsbury front axle and a standard item apart from 50 kg extra, stronger diff and welded on swivels. Are the halfshafts stronger?
I've come across one cheaply and am thinking about switching it with standard 110 front axle on my expedition 110. Broke a halfshaft in Mauretania in the Sahara last year and I'm not looking forward doing 2500 km in 2WD offroad again with a 3000 kg vehicle
Probably a more cost effective/stronger option then ashcroft the front axle. (salsbury cost about 500 quid)
Bjorn, They look like the later TIC (dutch firm) type. The earlier ones used different calipers with MB100 pads. But yours uses a different one. You could send the pic to Paul Heijstee (Heijstee Automotive) for identification and informatie about which blocks to use. He should be able to help you. It can take a few days for him to answer a mail so be patient
Good luck!
By looking ad it I can say it are not landrover related discbrakes. Can you make some pics from the caliper and the way it's attached. Then I can tell you if it is a Chris Perfect, TIC , Santana or homebrew set.

To the series: Probably a new engine together with the new 1ton box I;ve got lying around
To the competition disco some new tires:
The new ones in comparison to 7,5x16 and 205x80x16 :D:D
I;ve already got a 300 tdi turbo with going engine, but I would like to get a little bit more room in that area, so I'm looking for a smaller one or different manifold, so my accelerator will work (LHD) . Any ideas?
We're in the process of extensively modifying our disco. We've moved the engine 10 inches backwards (see members vehicle forum) the problem we've encountered is that the turbo is fooling the accelerator pedal because it's a LHD. After a lot of thinking we've come up with the solution, change it to a right hand drive. But to be sure about this I'm looking for a picture of the pedals of a RHD model (which is hard to find in Holland ) Can anyone take a shot of the pedals especially both pedals and the underside of the dash in one pic.
Thx!

Fridge why would you want te reverse your shackles? Shackles on the fron gice a different sort of issues, one for instance is vague steering because of the movement in the bushes especially when stuck and with larger tires.....
It sounds like the springs aren't connected in the right order. Or the cilinder is on it's way out with rust in the lining which prevents a supple movement of the cilinder. If you brake without the drum on it and watch it closely you should be able to spot problems with the cilinder.
With the manual nearby you should be able to check the spring layout.

This Homebuild heater can be a solution. Worked fine for me even with a softtop. Uses a Mercedes Core and Panda fan.
Regards Bowy who has ditched the heater now in a attempt to archieve max weightloss.
