  1. Don't be put off though. Td5s are very good, quite a leap from a 200tdi conversion.
  2. As above. Also check for diesel in the sump. Heads can crack / go porous. £1000s to fix.
  3. If you need any other parts for it give me a shout I have one with a terminally ill gearbox.
  4. Piece of cake. Thanks. I would click the "like" button but apparently I've reached my quota for the day (despite the fact I have never clicked it before).
  5. I have a good used one if that helps...
  6. Got to be worth £2K.........
  7. OK, it is actually for a disco1 but I am led to believe it's the same as the Defender (you get answered quicker on this forum as apposed to the disco one) The box says part number: YWX101230 This is it: Should I be able to just tell the ECU to 'learn' this fob, no codes involved?
  8. Hi, I have a key fob I need to program using Hawkeye. It's unused old stock, I believe it should have an 18 digit code with it, but I don't have that. Web searches have led me to believe I can get the 18 digit code from the 6 digit code "inside the key fob". Is this possible? If so how? Also I have had the fob to bits and although there are numbers and codes printed all over it none of them are 6 digits. Any help, as always, very much appreciated. Thanks.
  9. Glenister made me laugh. Al-right he was taking the P a bit, but, nothing wrong with that.
  10. I had an issue with rising oil levels. We changed the injector seals - no difference. We were told we had to be very particular about the cleanliness of the seals, so we changed them again - no difference. We replaced the head (not cheap) - no difference. At our wits end we removed the head (injectors still fitted) and took it to a local machine shop who fitted an airline to the fuel rail and submerged the head. Immediately you could see a leak at injector 2. On closer inspection you could see slight wear on the injector (wouldn't have spotted it without knowing it was broken), either from overtightening or undertightening. Replaced it now and all is well.
  11. Gearbox is out. Just waiting on a dmf. If it doesn't sort it injector seals it is.
  12. Ordered a new DMF. Hopefully this will cure it.
  13. Put a new pump in and fired up. Now it isn't running right. Sounds like not all cylinders are firing, no fault codes though....
  14. Put it into a local LR specialist. New pump. Only fitted one 6 weeks ago. It was a cheap one - will go for genuine this time I think....
  15. I tested idle speed (which measured a negative figure) it did effect the reading when I cranked it, is that the right test? The old sensor looked fine, there was no spacer and the wires to it are intact.
  16. Hello, I have a problem with a 2003 TD5 110. It conked out on Saturday and now wont start. It turns over OK but wont fire. Having plugged it into a hawkeye I got back a fault at the crank sensor. I replaced it but it still won't start. The pump seems to be working OK (it was replaced about a month ago), I can hear it buzzing and there is fuel coming out the pipes. The ECU looks clean (no oil), and the immobiliser is switched off. Any ideas? Thanks.
  17. Try the propshaft clinic. Made to order - any length you want. Just measure the gap.
  18. I have registered for TOPIx it gives you the workshop manual listed in the link above but it has full functionality i.e. if it says remove pedal refer to clutch pedal removal you can click the link and it will take you right there. It is pretty good but has 2 main disadvantages. 1) It is not a book. 2) It is pretty expensive.
  19. Hello, I know this has been covered before but the links on here for the LR2 workshop manual appear to be broken (green-oval). I need a workshop manual as I am about to attempt a clutch master then (hopefully not) slave cylinder replacement. I have down loaded this: https://www.wetransfer.com/downloads/b75dddd3708b2dd3d7fa7fb357dfe5be20140202115401/1046f2 which is useful but not as good as the RAVE one I have for the P38. I would be willing to buy a paper book if I could get one, if not a link to a pdf file would be appreciated. Many thanks.
  20. Never tried them myself but I will be giving these a go next time I need to replace doors. http://www.landiman.co.uk/product.php?itemID=135
  21. I've ordered from here: http://www.rakeway.co.uk/page28.html They were most helpful. Thanks for the replies.
  22. Will these do the job? http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/clutch-flywheel-4in1-valeo-da2357g-p-6639.html http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/clutch-slave-cylinder-ftc5202g-p-2064.html
