  1. I think I may have worked it out. To program James' Milage in, I reckon you need to program CFBD into the first 8 words of the EEPROM, i.e. instead of the FA64/FA65 that's there at the moment. If I'm right, I'll tell you how I did it Kev p.s. I might be approx 10 miles out, so make the first 16 words look like this: CFBD CFBD CFBD CFBD CFBC CFBC CFBC CFBC
  2. 'Back to Black' from Simoniz changes weathered grey plastic to slightly shiney black for a little while, so you can make it match, but all the black plastic on my disco has gone matt-ish grey, so I would expect so. Kevin
  3. 300tdi Disco here, non EDC, electronic speedo drive! Kevin
  4. I use my rear work lamps when reversing into my parking space at home. At night it's surrounded by trees and therefore pitch black and sufficiently off road so as not to be a problem for other road users. Kev
  5. @Zim: Bog standard O-Rings (thanks to me raiding Mark's O-ring collection) have gone in and done the job a treat. By the way it went back together, it might even be better than original. I only did the one cylinder, to test, as the other hand't failed yet, but I'll do that one too I think, and post the dimensions of the O-rings I used in case anyone else wants to know. Kevin
  6. Ah, cheers. I might just go straight to putting some O-rings in then. Has it given you decent service since then? Kev
  7. Does anyone know if anywhere sells replacement seal kits for the T Max double cylinder compressors? I could do with a full set really, the two O-rings that go above the outlet valves are ok, but the piston to liner seals aren't that great, and more importantly one of the seals that goes between the bottom of the outlet valve and the top of the liner has failed, in fact it had made it's way along the air line and out of the end... I've put some sealant in there as a temporary fix, but if anyone knows of the exactly right part, I'd be interested, otherwise I'll try and find a generic O-ring to fit. Kevin
  8. I think I might come down for this too. Kev
  9. Grab a multimeter, A will have continuity to ground, and F1 will to F2. No worrying about colours confusing the issue then. Kev
  10. Comparing the two pictures, I note that mine has a kink in it to provide extra space between it and the tank, so your tank is probably the same level as mine...
  11. Is your tank actually resting on the ARB? I've seen peoples ARB mounts being bent up, raising the bar, but certainly your left one looks straight. I've got 1 inch spacers on my ARB bushes, as I have a little suspension lift too, but if I didn't, I'd still have at least 1.5 inches clearance: IMAG0060 by MrKev, on Flickr Kevin
  12. PS - can you have anti-tetanus on a constant drip feed? Kev
  13. Maybe as well as a Technical Archive, we should have a Medical Archive section for all these useful tips you've been giving us Nige.
  14. Did my renewal with them not long ago. It went up by a shocking £8.
  15. My humble effort of stitching a few clips together from where I was standing... Kev
  16. Ah, this? IMAG0052 by MrKev, on Flickr ....... IMAG0053 by MrKev, on Flickr Kev
  17. If it means I have to change those fiddly metal rings that hold the seals in less often, then absolutely worth the money! Kev
  18. I shall be up sometime early Sunday morning for a bit of marshalling. I'm staying at my Mums in Somerset the night before, so won't be around on the Saturday. Kev
  19. I was just wandering that too. Could do with a couple in M10 and a couple in M12....
  20. I have some 17mm square nuts, but I just checked and they're threaded 3/8UNC. Sorry!
  21. I'm not sure how valid these statistics are, as it could just be a one off blip that month, but it's always good to see a company doing well, especially in overseas sales bringing money into the country. from: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-12983188 Land Rover has announced record sales in the UK, India and China. In the UK sales of the Range Rover 2011 model increased by 30 per cent in March - the highest monthly figure in the company's 63-year history. There were also record March figures recorded in India where Jaguar sales were up by 3,500 per cent. The group HQ is based in Warwickshire, with Land Rover vehicles produced in Solihull, and at the Halewood plant in Knowsley, Merseyside. Jaguars are produced by the same group - which is owned by Indian car manufacturer Tata - at Castle Bromwich, near Birmingham.
  22. Hmm, now if I know Mark at all, I'll wager that as soon as he reads that sentence, he'll immediately start sketching axle stretchers or whatever the damned things are on the back of a napkin / shoebox / business card....
  23. Ads? I see no ads... Does this help: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=63430 ??? Kev
