  1. Hey all I'm currently crossing the Pyrenees and a vac pump for the brakes has completely failed, an idea where I can get one or is anyone about that could help? It definitely needs replacing its from a 300tdi part number ERR3539 tom
  2. send them back and get some optimill ones, theyr pricey but soooo sexy and worth it
  3. All Mounting Points should be into the Triple Layer Sections of the Body as per OEM, Rivnuts are also used OEM, Seat Belt mount is as Per OEM. Note: I have mounted my seats how I feel comfortable mounting them, you should mount yours how you feel comfortable, In Non of my Posts of this forum do I ever Recommend Copying anything I do even if I am following the OEM manual for simple jobs, Please Work on your Landrover using your own Brain and Experience and only look at my posts in a way that awakens your imagination, If you are that concerned then I can remove the post and not bother trying to help people in the future Tom
  4. Yep Rivnuts, that's what the more modern defenders have OEM, haha Si that would be interesting to see (note: never energize something you are unsure of
  5. Ok, A little More on fitting, sorry no pics ill get some tonight. AirBags- these are the side airbags and can be carefully removed my flipping up the SRS logo undoing a bolt and then the whole air bag can be lifted off (personally I dislike having them there at all so I then undid the 3 nuts holding the airbag to the metal plate, prized off the plastic cover, unfolded and cut open the bag and removed the airbag 'firing unit' then refitted the plate and plastic cover to the seats (Note: air bags can be very dangerous so anything you do to them is at your own risk and whatever you do - DO NOT let any electricity near to the units!! Next I cut off all the brackets under the seat rails, easy job, then line the seats up where you want them and bolt the rails straight to the seat box at the front, I found the original holes are slightly off, so I drilled new holes and fitted rivnuts, I then fitted approx. 6mm spacer under the rails so the drivers seat motors don't foul the seat box. next step, test and check you are happy with the seats, all inline and don't foul when moved about Awesome Electrics on the seats: Yellow Plug - SRS, bin this Seat Motion - Thick Grey +12V Thick Purple Ground Lumber - Yellow Red Trace +12V White Yellow Trace Ground Seat Heater - Blue +12V I haven't bolted the rear of the seats down yet but I will probably make a mount so that the seats are lifted a bit at the rear so the seat base clears the seat box covers,
  6. i Picked up the seats today, look great. ill be fitting them tomorrow but in my opinion theres no welding necessary, just cut off the original brackets and bolt done thru the rails into the seat box. NOTE: ENSURE YOU REMOVE ANY AIRBAGS !!!!CAREFULLY!!!! TRY NOT TO DRILL INTO YOUR FUEL TANK

  11. Hi all, I'm currently in the position of refitting an LT77 and LT230 to a friends truck and I can't find information anywhere about the lever adjustments. mainly the info I need is the lever that switches between Hi/Neutral/Low passes over an Eye bolt as a Pivot point and this is adjustable In/Out does anyone know how far out this should be to be set up correctly? Thanks Tom
  12. I was wondering about a chassis mount like those shown, very nice, although I would consider placing it on the inside of the chassis legs alongside the rear prop, to keep it out of harms way and prying eyes
  13. I like the idea of coupling one of Si's X-Fan hose adaptors with a diff lock drain plug, good idea, maybe a sales combo special would go well.

  19. nothing wrong with helicoil, welding will fail
  20. the main issue with trying to fit a puma dash is the gear sticks on a puma they are side by side where a 200tdi has them one infront of the other so they would foul the dashboard also the vent flaps because useless so you would have to bolt them shut
  21. check the earth strap from the rectifier I think its on the p/s wing just infront of the air intake
