  1. These are fairly generic. I got some others much cheaper to use on my trailer. Shop around. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL-CAR-ALARM-DOOR-COURTESY-LIGHT-SWITCH-CAPRI-/140722392559?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Safety_Security&hash=item20c3b54def#ht_5300wt_952 G
  2. Did anyone else here get a photo into the top 50? http://www.lrocalendar.co.uk/bgbt_voting.php I did and would appreciate a vote (Gareth Griffiths) some good photos there and the one they picked of mine is probably my least favourite, but there you go. Cheers, G
  3. have a look in here: http://www.retroanaconda.com/landrover/parts_books/110/10_trim_seats_stowage_accessories_p910-1075.pdf G
  4. Exmoor retrimmed both of mine about 4 years ago. They were an awesome improvement at the time and still good to this day Went for the Outlast fabric and it is very hard wearing and comfortable. G
  5. Andy, your welcome to come visit us down there when we get ourselves sorted out G
  6. That would be interesting. I have emailed both the AA (Who issue ICMV's) and the DVLA to see if I can get some sort of paperwork to satisfy the border/custom guys in central Asia and Russia. I was going to change my V5 details for the trailer but problems will likely arise when I cannot produce an ICMV for the trailer If these are printed like an IDP with card cover then replicating them will be a problem. In the meantime I will get an MOD breakaway cable fitted as Jason suggested and possibly an extra chain which will also aid security. If push comes to shove then a modified V5c will be the way to go. G
  7. Keep it coming. Following you guys on my HEMA 'Outback Map' G
  8. stirred my interest again as I just made a list of everything I need to do before we leave the UK in January next year. The list is massive and this is another thing on the list. would like to fit a relay to ignition live but don't know if this is the right thing to do or not or which relay is best to use. G
  9. I wont be fitting one then! I have been wondering the same thing about Sankey trailers for our upcoming overland trip across Central Asia/Russia/Mongolia. I cant really see a way to do it and it would be expensive. I think im just going to 'make' something for the Russians. Western Europe shouldn't be a problem as they probably know that the UK does not register trailers. Problems arise when you head out east and 'no' means no at borders. G
  10. defying convention I removed both at the same time with no jacking. Just chock all 4 wheels to minimise movement. Did the same for the A frame to. When I tried the same with the radius arms the diff nose moved and I did struggle to line it all up again on refitting. I got around it by jacking the nose up and pushing the wheels (left and right) with my feet. Panard rod was never a problem. G
  11. How come LR4x4 still works then? hehe G
  12. must have been the same bloke! we parked up there and got shouted at so followed the others in our transit van across the mire. G
  13. The marshals must have been hired in. I hope it was nobody here but they were a bunch of twats. insisted on stopping you at all times, wouldn't let us join an empty stretch (75m?) of road to the exit instead driving over 300m down a muddy field in a transit van. Couldn't reason with them either! rent-a-cops. Got a few bits I needed which was good. Some traders had to set-up outside on Saturday morning because they were not allowed into the main show ground! they were fuming. I think it was a smaller affair than the Bristol show and we were done in about 3-4hours. Luckily had free tickets from Difflock, would have been annoyed if I had paid. A shame. G
  14. saw 4-5 Camel Trophy 110s on the ring road in Bristol today, early afternoon heading north Maybe there Sunday depending how trailer progress goes, I have some free tickets so would be a shame to waste them! G
  15. Buy the X-charge split relay from Simon at X-eng and follow the instructions. Get another fuse box with single main positive terminal to keep things simple and run things off that. simples
  16. What? Africa every time. Drive the West coast down to Z.A. and ship back... when your ready no brainer. G
  17. thanks for everyone's input on this. Can anyone recommend a good mechanic familiar with 300tdi in the Bristol/Bath/Somerset area? I want to get the clutch and timing belt done soon and just had a quote from Steve Hill who I have used in the past. Cheers, G
  18. Sounds exactly like the route we did! you will struggle on the hairpins up Sommelier with 110's I had to shunt the 90. I lose count of them after 13 back to back. If your planning to stay in Monaco there is a municipal campsite around the corner in Menton. You can get the train into Monaco from there for about 6eu. The Asseti Crest is also worth a drive as your in the area. G
  19. Excellent - 2 weeks will be nice out there. If you need any route info and/or borrow maps I have some. I recognise a lot of those photos. If I had the holidays I would come along in a flash! G
  20. Bundu Gear in the US http://bundugear.com/products/storagesolutions.html Does not show 'lids only' but I'm sure they could help G
  21. I have a 'heritage motor centre' 90 here at work. The lads drew on the roll cage and ARB bumper for me to G
