  1. My old man just bought a pair of Leica 10x42HD's. I had a little look and they were great in the twilight hours. When I alsed him how the compared to his (much) cheaper Nikon's he said he couldn't tell the difference! so thats a £100 on the Niks and £1500 on the Leica... Go figure As above TRY BEFORE YOU BUY. I love Leica 'red dot' optics, I have a D-Lux 3 camera but... you have to draw the line. G
  2. I haven't had the standard carrier on for a long time, it also depends on what size rubber your using. so whats the clearance? 3-4"? 4-5"? just give me a figure G
  3. Is it all original? T box, axle, Diff, radius arms etc. Tell us what you have and what part number you ordered. G
  4. They make one at Engel to. MPS stock them. If your using a cheap halfrauds fridge then get one, if using a Engel etc. then you wont need one. you can leave it on for days without it draining your battery worth the investment. G
  5. Ar, I was wondering what all the confusion was about regarding weights, fulcrums and axis. No, I meant the spare on the back door of the 90 it sits too low so im going to chop the swing away about and move it up. I have yet to get around to attaching the spare to the trailer G
  6. Jason, been meaning to ask. how high is your spare wheel off the hitch? I have to remove mine at the moment to allow it to open up and will soon be chopping the swing away and welding it higher. I was just wondering how high to make it. I was thinking 6" should do it. Any thoughts? G
  7. no such luxury for me. A block of wood and the floor is all I have to work with. Still, when it comes to bush repairs atleast I dont know any different! bushes are being stubborn now. going to burn them out. Did the new joint go in easy enough Boris? G
  8. I must be one of the chosen few a couple of dozen hammer blows and it came out in 1 piece. Didn't even need to touch the bolts. Now I just need to get the old bushes out and push in my new Superpro ones. Glad I got on with this now, the joint boot had split and there wasn't much grease in it and the bushes are pretty bad. I suppose it has all been on for >16 years! G
  9. I would like to know this to. A friend had the black one split and replaced with the above. G
  10. I did a write up here: http://www.landyzone...html#post830368 now fitted a seperate filler and it is much better. G
  11. forgive my ignorance. but why do you need these for Norway? for when your stopped? Im even more confused by the need for mosi netting, even in Africa thermal blinds would be good for the cab though. I have a windscreen one kicking about somewhere. G
  12. Could you see that the joint was genuine/delphi? or just the housing? I have put my hand in my pocket and bought a Delphi with new bolts for £25 delivered. let the hammering commence! G
  13. thanks for reporting back, doing this next weekend G
  14. As above Croatia is an awesome country. visit the national parks and try to get some time on the coast to. Dubrovnik is a lovely place but over run with tourists. If you can get to Zadar and/or Split they are beautiful. Ps. The water is colder than it looks! G
  15. thats what im trying to establish. is it actually better quality? G
  16. options options, decisions decisions! I like the idea of buying one pressed into the housing but has anyone had one for any length of time? MPS do one for £60, Gwyn Lewis ~£90. These are unbranded. adjustable and greasable? any need for this? I can pick up a Delphi for less than £20 delivered so I am tempted to 'have a go' myself (yes I have read the threads ). I just want to know how long the unbranded ones are likely to last and is the delphi a better/safer bet? cheers knowlegable ones! G
  17. I did a write up here: http://www.landyzone...html#post830368 now fitted a seperate filler and it is much better. G EDIT: DOH! I have been on to many yank forums and didn't read the word 'gas' properly. Anyhow, enjoy the pictures and maybe the size of tank/exhaust part numbers etc will be of some benefit. G
  18. short answer is no. it wont fit a 50mm type pin. i have heard of people using the bigger size but your better off with a proper nato hitch. how about having 2 drop plates? G
  19. I was just wondering if you may have been sold vented calipers. I have a spacer kit hanging around and its probably 6-8mm thick from memory? worth measureing to see if your old calipers are any different. G
  20. which brake calips did you replace them with? do you have a part number?
  21. its his site yes, but those photos of that 110 are not his. If you read the paragraph above the photos you would see: "The inspiration came from the following pictures which were emailed to me (but I can't remember by whom!). If the sender or owner of this vehicle can get in touch I would love to find out more details about capacity and construction". G
  22. Its 375ml. Part No STC3435. Interesting info Si. I better flush the EP2 out of mine then! G
  23. A new Servo just solved my poor brake problem - but now I have a bank balance problem instead
