  1. Ok, so I've been to the local fairly large fixing supplier and they don't stock not know where to get a M10 x25 with a 13mm head Does anyone know the part number for the original landrover part because it seems i am going to have to order some genuine bolts!
  2. No you most definitely CAN fit later diffs and shafts, you just need to change your hubs and stubs! Also, you will be happier keeping the 200tdi 4bolt flange.
  3. That is brilliant thankyou! My box is a 744 so 18mm is my magic measurement. Now, this end float melarky, i shall take a picture of what i think this means so you fine chaps can tell me if im right or wrong! i seriously do not want to destroy this autobox! thanks again! chris.
  4. Not teaching me to suck eggs, im 20 and have got to learn some way! So i slide the torque converter onto the auto box BEFORE I offer up the auto box/Torque converter combination up to the engine? Thanks for your advice, its most most useful, literally couldn't do it without the help!
  5. Right, having now purchased and automatic box i have begun fitting it to my engine. I have run into a small problem, I have bolted on the engine back plate and bolted on the starter ring. I have come to the point where the torque converter is bolted to the starter ring (after realising you need to remove the bronze bush thing out the crank so the torque converter slides up) There are four bolts that hold the torque converter to the starter ring, i have 4 appropriately sized bolts that are the correct length and correct thread, but with a 17mm head on them. The problems starts when you try and get a 17mm socket through the starter motor hole to try and put them in/tighten them up. Am i missing something? a little guidance is needed! Thanks I have taken pictures to show what i mean.
  6. Sounds to me like a turbo problem, start simple and swap that for a known good one. Your fuel consumption sounds very good!!
  7. clicky linky! make up your own minds.... to me it looks like a stolen td5 90 that someones painted! everything on it is TD5!
  8. why dont you use the online version of microcat?
  9. cheers for that les, Ive found a 200auto and the chap has told me i will need to buy a different transfer box as they are different? i presumed a lt230 fitted onto all gearbox's, or is he trying to sell me a transfer box when i dont really need it?
  10. As per title, looking at autoing my 200 challenge truck and got a chance at buying a 300 autobox complete with adapter plate etc. Will it fit? http://lrparts.net.ru/ Looking at this the parts seem the same?
  11. By using a 4.2 crank you are "stroking" the engine. Meaning you are making the stroke of the piston longer, thus increasing capacity. I imagine you would use 3.5 pistons, but unsure on conrods.
  12. from the centre point of a front wheel, to the centre point of the rear wheel.
  13. Bought a 99quid rad for a 200tdi disco/defender from paddocks it wasnt a britpart.
  14. Didnt help at all, and once again you have proven absolutely useless - please refrain from answering my thread, you clutter up threads with useless replys as is, please don't do it to mine. I was asking for actual accurate measurements.
  15. How much shorter is a defender lt77, and how much further forwards to this put your gear stick?
  16. We run a fleet of new, New Holland tractors and I've been using the same engine oil in all my landrovers, including TD5's.
  17. sooo what your asking is where do you buy a cheaper mid pipe with a silencer? If I were you I'd go to your local exhaust specialist and see if they will make you a custom mid can. It shouldnt be any more than 100quid!
  18. I have a friend that restores classic cars, and he uses a special drill bit. I shall have to ask him what its called!
  19. Right, ill drill new holes and just use a disco item! thanks!
  20. Im currently swapping my front axle on my hybrid to a later 300tdi axle with single circuit brakes. Im trying to find a single circuit master cylinder with the correct mountings Can anyone tell me what this is off? and also what thread the ports are? The bolts on the cylinder are vertically above and below each other, NOT side by side nor diagonally like a discovery, RRC or 200tdi 90. The bolts on the big round thing (?) are much wider spaced than on the back of a disco rrc or 200tdi 90 round thingy. All help appreciated!
  21. What pump are you currently using? A 300tdi power steering pump can be 'tuned' to run full hydro with out a problem.
