  1. Sorry just realised I put this in tool and fab, and not in the Disco section! I haven't got an engine hoist, I was just gonna use the Loadall at home, so don't think that'll fit through the door! I've had this discussion with a few mates, and I think it'll be wise to leave the engine in, and struggle underneath. I do actually have a ramp at home, but it's currently broken and is being used for storage of drums and tractor wheels! Cheers for the input toby
  2. Hi all Firstly the car is a N reg 300tdi disco currently with an lt77 in it(someone in the past decided to downgrade from an r380 for some reason). Unfortunately, both my gearbox and transfer box have gone! I've got a replacement r380 gearbox and transfer box (bolted together) ready to go in. My question is, would it be easier to take the engine out, bolt the new box's to the engine and then drop it all back in? Or put the Gbox and Tbox in separately with the engine still in? Does anyone have any guides lying around to help? Any help would be much appreciated! Toby
  3. Even I was excited waiting for this! can't imagine how you're feeling!
  4. I thought this might be the case, apart from the addition of a washer, I've had a quick search but I'll keep digging
  5. Hi all I've blow my 24 spline 4 bolt rear diff, and I've got a 24 spline 3 bolt flange lying around, how big of a is it swapping the flanges over? Cheers! Toby

  7. Saw this a while back, I personally think it look awesome Looks to be a lot of time, effort and ££££ spent on it
  8. Brilliant. Thanks a lot Western, been a great help. Toby
  9. Last question I promise Are they a fairly reliable winch? Anything I should look out for upon inspection? Toby
  10. Hey Guys I'm contemplating buying a Husky 8 off a chap, but as I don't know too much about them, I thought I'd ask on here first, all answers are much appreciated. -Do they have a normal footprint? Or are their specific bumpers for them? -Do they fit between Defender wings? They do look quite wide -What sort of speed do they pull at? It's not going to be used that often to be honest, every now and then at p&p days and the occasional time the quads/other vehicles get stuck on the farm. Thanks in advance Toby
  11. Saw this a while back. You wouldn't pay a huge amount less for one without tracks! Very nice bit of kit
  12. I stopped using my card at any petrol station, especially the independent ones that have that care reader under the counter!
  13. Hi guys I've been offered a husky pto off a 110 300tdi (S REG, 1998). My question is, does anyone know if it will go straight on to my 1999 90 TD5? Thanks in advance! Toby
  14. Yep forward PTO. Just wanted to make sure...knowing my luck it would be 20 inches long if I didn't ask! Toby
  15. I thought this aswel. Cheers Western! Toby
  16. Quick question......Will a PTO driven husky off a 110 fit on a 90? I.e is the pto shaft length the same length? Thanks Toby
  17. Looks good. What sort of performance increase have you achieved? Toby
  18. Everything's sorted now Guys, got in touch with an old friend who's doing whole job, including parts, skim and test for £300, which is £400 lees than the garage! Thanks for the advice! Toby
  19. I've never removed a head before...and apparently doing a TD5 as your first isn't recommended? I'm not one for being scared of taking things apart, and if it's going to save me £555 in labour costs then I'd rather have a go! If the cylinder head has cracked, then I'll more than likely be doing an engine swap. Thanks Guys Toby
  20. I was spectical about this aswel, but Western confirmed mine could have and even supplied me with a part number Toby
