  1. Sorry mate, thats a Disco 1, an old channel 5 clip thats was on here a while ago, still be interesting with a winch bumper fitted, perhaps an ARB one for example. You can drive through houses with one of them fitted.
  2. Cheers Will, the ex would wish it, but you know about bad smells, Widget sorry but got wet to prove it, BFG mud terrain 235x85x16 on the back of a 300 three door 12mm clearance, must be bored to go and measure.
  3. I agree, but yes it does, but you cant see the trees from the wood so to speak, thats why mines bent after i hit one.
  4. Cheers guys, it makes sense now, OK rethink time for me, but I see a solution and cheers for the picture Mark, but mines a 300 and the snorkel plumbing goes through there as well.
  5. OK I admit it, that eletrickery stuff baffles me a bit, cant see it. So thinking about an extra battery on board to boost up the system for winching, up to now I've been using a single heavy battery in the disco, v8 so problems to find the room and using a electric winch, never really had any problems but touch wood haven't had to use the winch a great deal. Now thinking about being a bit more competitive and fitting a second battery. Now why cant I just link the two batteries in parallel, still get 12 volts and presumably charging should be the same, just longer as the capacity is larger, so the question is why a split charging system and there lies my ignorance, so can anyone enlighten me. Cheers fellas( and gals of course)
  6. All I did was fit two large hooks, used door coat hooks in the end, to the CB itself, hook it on the passenger side of the central console, easy to get at,no drilling and easy to remove to hide away, couple of in line plugs, sorted. But then I've never done pretty.
  7. Cheers Cal, will give them a ring, sorry Freeagent, typed that at fivish in the morning, should have read, could I buy from scrapiron and admit it, personally I wouldn't simply for the reason that I've always found them to be totally overpriced so therefore have no experience about there service or lack of it.
  8. Cheers for the info, does you dare to buy scrapiron and admit it, but will try Oec and Mantec, good luck to ya with the new disco Freeagent, sounds look a good buy
  9. Question from my sis in the states, can you get an inner grill for the rear window as her poochs have attacked the rear window heater connectors. I was thinking security systems for touring abroad or something. Any thoughts as shes not to hot on fabbing anything and shes keeping up her LR support in the States. Cheers
  10. Just had a quote, ATS at Fareham, 235x85x16 all fitted and dreaded £217.48p for two, 15% discount for two, 25% for four apparantly Do the maths comes out about 90 a tyre
  11. Flaming hek, its gone already and I'm on 19 so this should do it, bye, bye and sorry to bore you all.
  12. Sorry lads and laddesses, but rules is rules and Brighty and i need to find a new home for a bob tailed rangy, like pronto, see classified and i need 20 posts or it'll be oblitereated, thats 18 i think
  13. Only doing this to get 20 posts , get a chisel with a rubber shield.
  14. Opinions please, am looking at a Rangy with the 4.6 engine, you see a lot on ebay with new engine fitted and i understand that they can have a problem with the top end, something about the liners can come loose, went to see one the other day and I have to admit I could hear a tappet noise as I walked up to it. I think that that engine has hydraulic tappets, a friend has said that one of the sypmtoms of liners coming loose can be a tappet like noise, so of course this has set me thinking. So oh learned ones, any opinions, and no I don't want a diesel before you all start

  16. Just bought a machine mart invertor set, due to the fact that i got it VAT free, therefore 250 quid, have used a Lincoln set, made by BOC I think, they are brilliant, stick welding all day with 3.2mm rods and no problems with overheating, don't know yet with this set, but think it should be good. Problem with Tig welding as opposed to Mig welding is that Tig welding is a lot more difficult to get a decent and neat weld, still with practice it usually comes. Remember of course that you won't be able to Tig weld aluminium with these sets.
  17. Got it fitted to my mastergear 9000, so far no problems, but not really given it a lot of stick yet, wait till after paul whitmans event next weekend, I'll tell you then, only problem so far is using a snatch block, doesn't really like them, but as you see its a lot cheaper than plasmas.
  18. Yep, up for that, sure I can twist brighty to come along, one question, having just about finished the brighty beast is it open to trailered vehicles.
  19. Tony, was that the new snatch block that you were talking about getting a little while ago.
  20. Interesting, that, after a two year refit, went out on sea trials, broke down in the solent, had to be towed back into harbour, just before it came down to you bogbuster had to have an engine change in the caribbean, spos about par for a LR.
  21. Newgate Lane, Gosport 02392587736, had some bits done for the bike, not the cheapest, but quality was good enough, now stove enamelling, K&N finishers in Portsmouth, excellent and open to the old you know what, never did like paperwork 02392370591
  22. OK oh learned ones, LPG tanks, possibility that I may buy a rangy with LPG, problem is that it is a silly p*ddl*ng 50 litre tank, on a 4litre engine the proverbial ashtray on a motorbike springs to mind. Question, if you fit extra tanks, is it just a matter of teeing the things in on the output side and possibly teing them on the filling side or is there more to it than that. I know about that they have to be pressure vessels and tested etc., am just interested in the schematics of an installation.Cheers
  23. Hi, don't write much, but andy I was the disco that had the chequer plate off you, take it from me, to TIG weld ali you need one of the big sets, you have to have a square wave voltage, a DC set and you have to have a special tungsten tip. Stick with the MIG, pure Argon and practice on scrap first to get the currant right.
