I carry two 7.50s as spares when I`m running my 235/85s
so long as the tyres are the same on each axle ,I cant see any major dramas if any.
but a grown up will be along soon to confirm this or make me look stupid
you could drive down here and I will use my Landrover special tool No 1 to open it
seriously Goldie don`t force it, cos it will snap and then it`s a nightmare to strip the front end when you cant open the bonnet.

Carl
push the bonnet down, then try it again, mine used to play up aswell, then I was a bit to strong for the bonnet release and snap,
sounds like it needs a good greasing when you finally open it
Russ
dare I say this?
take a look at www.swporc.com
I am a member of that forum aswell and they go out laning at least once a month, all types of trucks welcome and nearly as friendly as this forum.
I`m not too far from you either
Russ
have a look at the bushes on the front radius arms, panhard rod, rear trailing arms. have a good look at the upper link bushes on the radius arms and trailing arms.
I had the upper link bushes fail on my trailing arms, whish in effect gave me rear wheel steering, not funny at 50mph and the rear of the disco is doing its own thing
Russ
Special tools?
52mm box spanner for the bearing nuts
brass drifft to tap out the old bearings and to tap in the new ones
a pot of bearing grease
and
a sense of humour for when you get grease everywhere
If you could fill you location in on your profile, it would be easier as someone closer to you could pop round and show you.
or
go and get one of those Haynes manual thingies.
if you are close to me I would willingly sit and drink brews and pointed while you were doing you brakes
Russ
just to give you an idea of how much welders charge, the one near me charges £35 plus vat per hour not including materials , that`s why I did mine my self, not as quick as a professional, not as tidy, but it passed the MOT
mine is where the curtesy light is aswell, wire running down the `A` pillar, through the dash, then it has a 12v plug with fuse on the end and gets plugged into the cigar lighter socket
Russ
I have one of those on the disco, it has never let me down and pulled me out many a time, a good entry budget winch and the company selling them are very helpfull
hey buddy had a a similar problem with mine, sounds like the little spring has snape on the lock mechanisum, the are pennies on ebay, look under `landrover springs.
if your not far from Brecon, I wil open the door for you, well show you how I did it.
