  1. I would go with Mark on this one, put the spare in the boot, they are too heavy for the door anyway. remove the rear mount completely and plug the holes left, I personally think Disco 1 looks better without the wheel on the back door, but hey what do I know I just cut the back of my disco Russ

  5. work is on the reshape is very slow at the moment, trying to rebuild the body cross member and to top it all the weather is a big problem.

  7. update. not much. been busy doing work stuff. all I have managed to squeeze is was cutting the lower rear panel piece, the new floor panel, oh and why are brake hoses attracted to angle grinders?
  8. excellent thread Les. I have done this recently and it is really as simple as you have explained. I made my own spring seats out of box section though, my advice to anyone going to do this is to do both sides, if one side is rusty then there is a good chance the other side is just as bad Russ

  10. I got mine from MM4x4, its a bog standard one, no jacking points as my bumper has them. if i remember right it was about £50ish including postage
  11. as les says use the bits of both to make one good one, diesel into rangie, and as for flok wallpaper I have non just bits of rusty disco Russ
  12. pull one of the 1/2 shafts out and count the splines, but I am almost sure you have a 10 spline. try: mm4x4 discoparts rimmer bros craddocks dls and of coures there is ebay?

  15. Jim i know when I was looking for a cb, I gave thunderpole a call and they were more then help full, without being pushy to sell thier stuff. might be worth giving them a call?

  17. lack of a press or vice, leads me towards poly, just for the ease of changing them
  18. I am about to change all the suspenion bushes, what do the learned forum members recommend? the bushes are for a disco 1 that is mainly a mud toy/laner,

  22. with my navman 570 I have to turn the gps on in the settings when i run MM, hope that helps?
