depends,garret gt20 is standard, but they do hybrid/uprated turbos for LR, gives better performance throughout the rev's (less lag) but the vnt is available for £900
'innocent until proven guilty' springs to mind, unless you no for a fact that they don't for now we will say they do. (please prove me wrong) on there website it lists all mods and what bhp they offer, now surly if they didn't use a dyno, and all the figures are guess/estimates they could be taken to court for miss advertising/fraud? so if so, customers would 'sue there ass off'

but you cant just replace the turbo with a bigger one, fuel system needs mod's e.g., remap then larger intercooler is the customary start point, the garret turbo seem to be popular, with a few other tweaks, 200bhp can be achieved easy
by the sounds of it, you've had a runaway diesel!! if it was only 5sec the temp MAY not of hit the 'beyond repair' moment but the turbo WILL need replacing/rebuilt. but i suspect best option is a full rebuild i take it look something like this, just not as bad?
after your experience, i would of needed fresh underwear! and the answer to why is. http://en.wikipedia...._engine_runaway gives a detailed description of the fault and how to stop the engine in the process.

ah Nige, hijack time learning time what does megasquirt do? increase/improve bhp, torque, mpg, throttle response? remove 'flat spots'? why is it so much ££? decrease engine wear? is there a final version? why/are there on going problems? can it be done to any petrol engine, not just V8's?

electric windows, there are many kits on the market, its just the case of finding them. but here are a couple to get you going in the right direction! i think Chelsea tractor did this to his 2001 td5, ask him. i hope this helps
