  1. I've had a cr@p rear crossmember from Craddocks and even worse customer service from them when i complained about it! Last outriggers etc i had came from Keith Gott's and had no problems with quality etc and the price was comparable to craddocks.

  2. I'm just running a pair of 072's which came from the local motor factors with a decent guarantee period. I think the pair (trade) cost me about £70. Had them for a couple of years now with no problems whatsoever.

  3. Maximum you can get pistons easily for is +40. Beyond that you're probably into custom pistons or piston off of something else etc. So far as stroking is concerned you probably then get into custom cranks, con rods etc. Probably alot cheaper and easier to simply source a larger capacity Isuzu lump and bolt it in!

  4. Does anybody make a flex plate to attach a V8 autobox to a Tdi engine? I doubt Land Rover do, which might explain why it was bodged in the first place :)

    Well landrover do..........

You need a 300Tdi flex plate, bellhousing and torque converter and the actual ZF box is interchangeable. In fact the only difference between a 300tdi box and a V8 box is the vlave block which controls the shift points. The ratios are in fact all the same.

My 300 auto rangie actually has a V8 box in it having evidently been swapped by a previous owner. Its then a nuts and bolts job to swap the torque converter and bellhousing over.

IMHO flex platres breaking is usually down to misalignment issues. It needs to be very precise! A mate of mine had a conversion plate made up years ago that turned out to be 40 thou out of true. The truck didnt make it to the top of the yard (about 50 yards) before the flex plate broke!

The one in my rangie broke becasue the muppet previous owner left the dowell pins out when he re-fitted the box. You'd have thought that with all the bolts holding the bellhousing on it'd be near enough, but no!

  5. Have to say I dont like the M8000 - I have one on the back of my truck, and quite simply the drum isnt big enough!

My choice would be an 8274. Ok its probably a bit overkill for the front of a suzuki, but they're the best thing about IMHO and the drum is nice and large!

Otherwise I'd look for anything Warn and 2nd hand as you cant really go wrong with them and you can get any parts you need easily enough!
