Etcetera.
I remembered to remove the pivot pilot bush.
Using an old pinion and some scabby grease.
I was surprised when it actually worked.
I had to break up the bush to get the pinion to complete the removal.
Alternatively you could sell it, and buy my 109. Much more space. I wouldn't charge you much.
But seriously, the swing away makes sense, you could relocate the plate and the grab handle to the carrier. Get a photo of the dog on the wheel cover.
Sounds Wizard. I think if I get the engine running, I'll be happy enough. I've Saturday set aside to finish the clean up. Hopefully my mate of a mate will steer me in the right direction next week, and I can start the rebuild.
But on the topic of oil pressure, where is the best place to plumb a gauge in?
I know it's the filter at the moment, but that's before the bearings, so I'd never know if the cam followers are getting enough lube.
As bad as the Rover management in the sixties who sink a fortune into jet cars, while the dealers were crying out for V8 series and the engineers were designing direct injection turbo diesel engines in a shoe string?
Yes. So, in general pottering about I'll be fine. In full throttle down the motorway with a trailer it will be cooling a lot more.
Fine. That's what I want.
