  1. Have you noticed a significant improvement in braking?
  2. one on the gear box mount, one in the centre and one at the rear. They are in the same locations as the TD ones. It's just a case of replacing the U fixings with hangers (the rubbers join the hangers to the exhaust).
  3. If it's a 110 you'll need the three hangers - not sure how many a 90 has.
  4. If time is the issue don't mess about trying to save nuts and bolts - if they don't move straight away just the grind them off. I ordered the complete pack from A2. Just replace all the copper piping with new, and accept any help.
  5. And you thought owning a 22 year old land rover would be maintenance free! Just think of the satisfaction once it passes the MOT.
  6. This is a useful thread that contains a link to a complete parts list: http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f7/salisbury-axle-drum-disc-brake-conversion-223788.html
  7. A tyre lever did the trick. Now I need to clean it, get it skimmed and rebuild it. Can anyone recommend an engineers to have the head skimmed, preferably around the midlands? What should it cost?
  8. Tried to remove the head this afternoon. After stripping everything off I can't get the seal to separate - any ideas or tips?
  9. When you start the engine all seems fine for about 5 mins then she starts spitting oil out of the cyclone breather pipe. I've cleaned the cyclone but no joy. If you remove the dipstick it also spits at you. I don't have a pressure test kit (does anyone have one?) and am guessing that the excessive pressure in the bottom end is caused by head gasket failure, worn bores,or broken ring or piston. Can anyone recommend a good engineers? Other options?
  10. I have a full set from Sam's trim.
  11. I'm living near Birmingham at the moment so I intend going to Sam's trim (I have a full set of her seats) and asking her to open up and the seats. I'll fit the pads then she can close the seats up with new fixings. Hope she agrees as they look mint and I'm not sure that I could return them to that standard. I would like to use a carling off-on-on switch but I'm not sure if they are compatible with the switch provided as the carling are off-one on-both on.
  12. Now that is a thought but not for now. I'm intent on building a bed for the misses and me.
  13. Just got mine but reluctant to open the seats up.....
  14. OK - thanks Are all 110 rear calipers the same with the exception of ABS? As they are differing prices on fleabay.
  15. My bad - the disco ones I've been offered are front ones. Having never checked my front calipers I assumed they were 2pot as it's a 1988 model. Best laid plans.......
  16. I've been offered a set of 4pot calipers off a disco. I was hoping to put them on the front axle and move the fronts to the rear. It's a 110 - is this possible? or is it too much of a mis-match.
  17. Thanks Western, Once I've picked up the hubs, I'll buy a new pair of brackets if I've not sourced any. I think there is a breakers around here, so I'll try them. Are you using standard front calipers?
  18. Even with a brand new genuine seal my windscreen still leaked. From the outside ease the rubber away from the frame and run a bead of black kitchen (mould proof) silicone in the gap.
  19. Keep the pics coming - I'm still looking out for the brackets and hubs.
