I'm also interested in an after-market temp gauge as I've a similar issue - can you recommend one? Presumably I'll need some sort of adaptor to fit in the defender 200tdi housing as the threads will be different?
Pictures would be good if possible.
The previous full length combination wasn't meeting all my needs. So I removed the rear storage cupboard and pushed the drawer further in. Next steps are to make another shelf in line with the bottom of the window blanks and put some carpeted panels on the sides. Also intend to have a water tank made that will fit between the shelves.
Took a bit of time but really happy with the finish. The TD5 dash console was good but not as good as the raptor one. Need 4 carling legends:
2 x heated seats
1 x heated rear window
1 x radio
If anyone has any spares?
I spoke to Phil at Raptor yesterday at Donington 4X4 show. He said that he intends to manufacture the clock housing when he gets some time; he has had a lot of requests for them. I'll be in the queue to get one.
I have a TD5 bulkhead and dash but retained the earlier clocks.
And as of today have removed the centre console and fitted a full raptor. Pictures to follow...........
Mine are hinged at the bottom and bolted at the top.
To line them up I placed an inch thick piece of wood on top of the H/light surround then centralised the guard on the wood. Once happy with the position I drilled all the holes.
My 1988 110 CSW has four holes (two on each rail). I had TD5 seats in at first. Is it worth fitting the raisers so that you can move the seats further back?
Whilst I agree with the above comments on using a second alternator don't forget that, as long as you are prepared to get your hands dirty, a heavy duty split charge can be made for around £30. In total, my 80amp set up cost £31, albeit 3 years ago.
Why not grab some cheap ones off fleabay and repair them - that way you'll always have doors fitted and won't have to drive around with constant A/C!!!
