  9. Thank you all for your input, after lot of debate about the pros and cons and from the advice offered from the forum, looks like the sankey wins, just have to find a couple of Sankey wide rack chassis that doesnt cost the earth, Thanks again! Neil
  10. Hi All, Looking for some advice on exped trailers. 14 of us intend to go to Morocco in a few years time in 3 LR's, I have 4 kids myself so space will be at a premium. Options open to me so far are:- Buy Sankey Wide track and convert to my needs Built box setion trailer from scratch either on coils or leafs Build trailer from Disco Chassis using axles and brakes I am all for the latter option, everything seems already in place, even buying a new fuel tank for the chassis would make an ideal water container. Brakes would need some work, which hitch would you guys recommend, I have seen that on the globemaster trailers they use a normal hitch, wouldnt a NATO hitch be more appropriate? Has anyone attempted building such a trailer in the past? I do expect that the trailer will surpass the 750kg so brakes will be needed, I have read in the past that the best way to have a trailer follow the towing vehicle is to ensure that the distance betwen the trailer wheels and rhe rear wheels is the same distance of the vehicle wheel base.....Is this true? Thanks for reading my ramblings Cheers
  11. I have always wanted to drive a Porsche 935, a Dakar 959 but I think the ultimate for me would be a 250 GTO LM or a Bently Speed 6 Porsche 935 250 GTO LM Bently Speed 6
  12. Hey Bogmonster, did that happen on the Stanley Road by any chance? Last time I was in your neck of the woods that seemed to be regular pastime of the ermmm imported work force between MPA and Stanley....... Now that this has been brougt to light I will seriously think about getting an external cage when I buy a 110. Cheers,
  13. Here is my 200tdi with 2" lift and 235/85/16 MT's, again it was recommended to me that the "Camel Cut" was prudent and that the brake lines should be lenthened..... Hope the pics help Cheers, Neil
  14. Well folks it was a total success using the original LR radio, the parrot 3100 had all the connectors ready to plug into the old radio, the only problem i had was getting the radio back into the slot, took out the center console and shuffled things around a bit. All back together again and does what it says on the tin. Big thumbs up from me!!! Cheers, Neil
  15. discojmz Thanks for that, I have already seen what a PITA putting the factory radio back in can be. Any extra wiring will make life most difficult. I expect I will either have to butcher the wiring to get the connectors in or ire it direct. Thanks all for the info and MERRY XMAS !!!! Cheers,
  16. Thanks Sotal, thats what I thought, and thanks rejo for the offer of help, thanks matey!!!!! Oh well of to Halfords................
  17. Hi all, Got a question about my radio in my 200tdi, which at the moment is the standard radio with the controls on the dash for volume and search, however my misses has bought me a parrot bluetooth thingymajig, which when you get a call it mutes the radio and uses the radio's speakers to listen to the call. So can I upgrade to a later LR radio that has the mute cable? using the original iso cables ? CD player would also be nice...LOL I am not bothered about keeping the functionality of the buttons on the dash as i would like to change them for my spot lights..... Thanks, Have a great Xmas and New Year !!!! Cheers
  18. I have also had the same problem of non starting after a cold night, I checked my alternator which seems fine as it delivers 14.2v, then had my battery tested at a local garage. Its on its last legs....... Thanks to Rejo for the battery !!!!! Cheers, Neil
  19. Is that right that some of you find it OK to sling mud at people when they feel they have bought something that does not live up to expectations, and even a threat of a ban for voicing such feelings. I am just after some clarification. Regardless of the product or supplier, there are other suppliers/manufactureres that get a regular slating on this forum, why should Britpart be any different. Be it positive or negative......
  20. Rejo asked me to put this up as he was having network problems, maybe coz he spent to much time in this little town. Cheers, Neil
