  1. I take it you are using tuner studio, if so its just a case of opening up your project then go to ve analyse live and click start auto tune, for the first couple of runs set the cell change resistance in advanced settings to easy then has you start to get your ve table tuned change it to hard then very hard keep an eye on the ve table as the live tuning does throw some odd numbers in there which you should smooth out after.
  2. Not been about for a while but but wanted to update the thread, still been driving the landy and enjoying the sound of the v8, every where I go I get kids waving and people stopping me to have a chat about the landy, she had her 2nd mot this week with the ms and passed again no issues with the engine at all, big thanks to all that helped me with it all and a hats off to Nige
  3. Same as above tin the wires first I also had a flux pen that I went over the Pins on 37pin plug first then just hold the wire on the pin and apply heat from solder gun gives a nice strong joint
  4. Managed to give the landy a good shakedown over the weekend and it performed like a dream, bobtail84 it was nice to meet you and a big thanks for showing me how to sort out me idle settings :-)
  5. On my 4.0 I ditched the landrover items and got a pair of ford coil packs and plug leads from Nige, sorry I can't be any more help
  6. I used one of those vdo gauges and sender, vdo gauge fits in dash where original gauge went and sender has a 1/8 npt thread so fits in where the original v8 sender goes on inlet manifold, job done tells you exactly what temp your running at, not like the useless LR stock items
  7. I'd replace rotor arm and cap not that expensive, new leads and plugs you should be good to go
  8. Wouldn't be to difficult to make, tools needed jigsaw, drill, tape measure and a few rivets and your good to go, my mate made his own for his 90 pick up and also used an electric ram so it lifts and lowers at the flick of a switch
  9. I had a similar experience with a Borg and beck clutch last year with my old 200tdi with lt77, hadn't even done a thousand miles when the clutch let go and left me stranded here's a pic of the clutch that let go took a while to get replaced under warranty but they replaced it in the end, quality ain't what it used to be
  10. Open a case with paypal mate as it sound's well suspect, you have already paid once,no need to send money to another account, you either want your goods or your money back simples
  11. Nigel does the connectors for tps but not sure about idle valve
  12. You need a bracket that goes on the sumo bar for the damper and ball joint, as said above gwyn do a kit for this mod
  13. Been doing some reading on this myself in the mega manual and else where, should you deactivate ae when you start tuning your ve? as some say yes and some say no.
  14. Well I'm now well chuffed with me ms, and figured out that hammering the nuts out of the v8 while trying to tune isn't the right way to do it :-) been taking it easy and starting to get a nice ve table, anyway me likes a project so I'm now thinking about adding lpg to the 90, been looking through all the posts and the best and easiest way would be to get me ole mate Nige to add table switching to me ecu, get an lpg tank, vaporiser and a blos bung it all on and job done, can anyone concur or is there a better way?
  15. Them gaskets do look wrong defo no holes there, what make are they? These are erling, upside down thou in this pic
  16. for some reason the uploader will not except the datalog?
  17. hope you guys can help, I started with nigels base map for the 3.9 and started doing some logs and running ve analizer and loading in the new msq and have currently started using turner studio live tuning, but looking at the ve table some really high numbers are getting put in and tbh I am not sure what I am looking at, I have attached the current msq ( 01msq ) from what turnerstudio has given me and a datalog and the msq megalog viewer has given me (0.2msq) there are some really high numbers being put in the ve table, ive been looking through the tuning thread and looking at some of the ve tables posted up and none of them are showing the high no's im getting, any advice would be gratefully appreciated 0.1.msq 0.2.msq
  18. I had the same issue with my 4.0 but do as Bowie says, I used a pencil in the spark plug hole, rotate crank pulley clockwise until pencil gets to highest point and make a mark where you have the pointer set, then continue to rotate until pencil starts to drop down then rotate back and make a mark when pencil is at its highest point, In between these two marks is tdc, then measure the circumference of the crank pulley divide by 360 and times by ten equals the distance for you to make another mark which is 10deg btdc, then in the spark table set all the buckets to 10 this will have it firing at 10deg btdc with your strobe adjust the trim in spark settings
  19. well mot today and a pass, even the tester said he was shocked how good the emission are for a v8 with no cats, and I aint got a clue what im doing with the tuning side of things, I have just been letting megalog viewer do its thing and accepting its new msq's, well chuffed.
  20. Had this issue with timing on my 4.0 as they have no trimming marks, best way is to find tdc make a mark on your crank pulley, then measure the circumference of the crank pulley divide that by 360 then times it by 10 this will then give you the distance to mark from tdc to make another mark that is 10deg btdc, then use your timing light to adjust the trim in ms
  21. Nigel hope you liked my phone message :-) got the exhaust done today strait through with a single cherry bomb in the middle, put a new set of plugs in and done a quick 15min data log on the way home as it was running a bit rough, let megalogveiwer do it's thing and she now sound's the nuts, must resist the loud pedal as it still needs running in i am over the moon A wee vid http://s336.photobucket.com/user/wangie46/media/3B6FAA0C-33BA-40E3-B4D3-1694B4C96755-156-00000444A3B2A0F6_zps552a6c89.mp4.html
  22. Sorry I've not been updating this thread, but we had some issues with the ecu which Nigel sorted out ( top man, bet he's well fed up with me ringing him) anyhow all sorted and running here's a wee vid, tap the pic below hopefully it works, it's running a bit rich and the exhaust was leaking and reading lean, so can't tune yet but it's booked in on Monday to have an exhaust custom made, so will be taking me laptop with me and data logging on me way home, now need to get reading the tuning threads.
  23. All sorted now, engine running :-) and every thing working, just need to read up on tuning now, want to thank Nigel big time as he has had the ecu fixed and retuned all at his own cost, all I can say is what a top man, has looked after me all the way through, any one thinking of going ms Nigel is your man, will update my own build thread with any pics I have soon
  24. hi bowie was reading 19.40, need to read up on tuning me thinks I take it that is rich
  25. Here's a quick vid of it running, needs some tuning me thinks, I have also got megatune connected with the usb to serial adapter and all gauges go white and work except for the afr? Just stays red any ideas? Got some reading up to do on tuning now http://s336.photobucket.com/user/wangie46/media/5D45452C-B97C-45A1-8497-82AADA4F4CF5-156-000002EE8B804543_zpsa9366f63.mp4.html
