  1. ok so iv found my other dream at a decent price so friday im away to view a 4.4v8 g4 disco 3, knowin me my heart will rule my head as always and i'll end up with it.
  2. definetly gona add one of them resistor kits before i finish building the motor
  3. ok so that means the fan lever gets attached to the arm on the side of the heater and the heat lever connects to the arm on the top or did i interpret that link wrong
  4. mmm im confused now, my fan mechanism has a connection for the cable and i have a mount on the hot/cold lever but not sure what you mean by open/close
  5. just the usual, commuting to work, shopping, holidays iv got a disco which gets used for towing and a 90 im rebuilding which will be used for offroading and general fun swaying more towards the sport as its sowt iv wanted for a long time but will see.
  6. evening all, iv just fitted the heater to my bulkhead and am ready to connect it up but i seem to have misplaced all my diagrams i had drawn for it, so now i have two wires behind the instruments which are green/yellow and green/pink which im not sure which way round they go. Any suggestions?? Also there are two arms on the actual heater unit, one on top and one low down on the engine side but i appear to only have one cable (maybe iv misplaced the other). Question is which cable connects to which arm?
  7. ok so looked at the wibbly wobbly speedo thread but im confused now, do i need a different temp sender for the 4.6 Gems or does the 4.6 Gems temp work through the ecu in which case if it did that makes me even more confused.
  8. ok so im thinkin of selling my l200 and replacing it with another green oval but am torn between 2 models, 1. Defender 110 tdci, around 07/08 or the one iv always wanted 2. Range Rover Sport TDV8, around 05-07 anyone any reccomendations on which would be better for reliability, running cost, resale values etc, its not for offroad i want this one so im not bothered about which one is better for that.
  9. ok so the past few weeks iv been noticing the driver footwell of my d2 is wet (maybe wet dosent quite do it, lets try saturated) and never dries out, yesterday it was a sunny, dry day outside (i know its a shock) so i decided to investigate, it appears only the first 12" in from the sill gets wet and just from the front of the seat to just below the pedals, iv dried it out with a heat gun and cleaned up the area around it to see if i can find where its coming in, but im suspecting its the door seal as its getting worn and has a half inch rip in it approx half way along the sill, question is would this be enough to soak the floor as bad as mine is? all the surrounding areas are bone dry!!
  10. fixed the drain tube on mine and no more leak, and its not as if we havent had enough rain to test it either.
  11. ok so iv got an lt77 box coupled to an lt230 transfer box, which soon will be attached to my 4.6 v8, the question is can i use the speedo from a td5 and if so what do i need to make it work? also do i need to use that speed transducer thingy?
  12. i used the mounts from the defender td, rubber mount in between and it slots straight to the chassis mounts
  13. sorry to be the one to point out the obvious but the guy only has 97.8% feedback and in the last month has had 11 negative for mostly no goods shipped, after being conned a couple of times when i first started using ebay i started reviewing the sellers before buying, a nuicanse yes but gives you piece of mind that your buying from someone reputable.
  14. http://offroadrovers.co.uk/ try these guys, they have some real tough hoodsticks, theres also a guy tours the lro shows does them but i cant remember who they are
  15. the plastic deterates through time and becomes brittle and just snaps, i had exactly the same problem a few weeks back and fixed it the same way, but now i have a new leak somewhere that i cant find and its just the carpet in the drivers footwell thats soaking wet
  16. this one listed on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-3-5-3-9-4-0-4-2-4-6-V8-Petrol-Engines-Overhaul-Manuals-by-/170877679494?pt=Non_Fiction&hash=item27c91a7786
  17. ok thanks, just wasnt sure when one side was completley different from the other going by the paperwork every time the oil was changed it got an engine flush, was looked after by brownchurch landrovers so may give them a call and see what they can tell me about the motor
  18. 120'000, i have loads o receipts for work done to it since around 38'000 and going by these its been no expense spared
  19. if it helps this was the area where the top of the plenum meets the trumpet housing
  20. used paisley freight, the guy wrapped it in plenty bubblewrap then a coat of pallet wrap, £30 delivered and next day service, cant say better than that.
  21. ok so started stripping the V8 earlier for a rebuild and all's going well so far but when i took the rocker covers off, the inards of the driver side are a really dark (almost blacky/bronzy colour) and the passenger side inards are a really goldy/bronzy colour, just wondering if this is normal below will hopefully be a pic of each but i cant promise as im hopeless at uploading pictures
  22. Im sure you can register the serial number with your name/address/etc, so if it gets nicked you have proof that i was yours, worst case you dont have it registered and they register with the serial number, turn up and claim its theirs and you have no proof its yours, like i say though "WORST CASE"
  23. why would he want the serial number, surely as long as he knows the dimensions and condition of the trailer thats sufficient. i wouldnt give him it
  24. if it was pre 2001 it would be poor as there were issues with the weak engines, alot of bottom end trouble.
