  1. Iv fitted corbeau forza sport and they are very comfy (even for me being a bigger boy), was gona fit a full bucket but that plan was thrown out the window after getting a lift to work in a bucketed nova 1 morning. If its comfort you want never ever fit a full bucket seat.
  2. Once got a cat c car to fix up and sell on, it needed an indicator and the driver wing painted then i got a cat d and it needed front bumper, driver wing/headlight, wishbone, shock track rod and a wheel and tyre. Strange how the cat c needed barely anything but the lesser cat d needed quite a bit. Mind at the price the breakers and others are asking for cat c/d you are aswell to go out and buy a straight motor. everytime iv had a cat c/d registered into my name the V5 always came back with a comment saying the vehicle has been repaired due to excessive damage so when someone comes to buy them there would be no hiding the fact that it was a damaged/repairable.
  3. Checked the head whilst it was off. All was A OK. I'm just worried if i dont find the problem im gona end up havin to do another head gasket soon and once im back to work next month im only home 1-2 days max each week so wont have much time to bugger about with it then. Hoping it was just the radiator. Its the worst state iv ever seen a radiator in. Was basically a few rows of cooling fins along the bottom and a couple along the top and nowt in the middle and the guy had been running it like that.
  4. Evening all, iv just purchased a 1.8 petrol freelander for running to work. Picked it up cheap as the head gasket was away and the guy had no interest in fixin it himself. Question is could a buggered radiator cause the head gasket to blow or is there sowt else i should be looking at. Have tested the thermostat and its working fine. Water pump was replaced February. No water leaks. The radiator was basically missing 40-50% of its cores. Have fitted an uprated MLS gasket and got the engine back together and running and another good as new but secondhand rad fitted. The temp gauge sits just below halfway now and the fan cuts in when needed. Theres no water/coolant leaking. Am i missing anything that could have caused the head gasket failure do you think i was right that it could have been the radiator?
  5. Stobart's strugglin too. A mate who works at their carlisle depot tells me they are looking at doing away with nights out and organising things round day and night men to save money.
  6. Diesel in France isnt actually that much cheaper, if i get off the boat at oiustreham its only pennies cheaper than it is over here but once i get over the spanish border the price drops by a substantial amount. If rates dropped then everything we bought would drop (knock on effect) as the businesses using the hauliers would have less outlay.
  7. Many hauliers have gone under in the past few years due to high fuel prices and very little paid for the job undertaken. I know of one company that will only pay £380 to haul 28 ton from kent to edinburgh, how can folk survive on that?? Many are busy because there is fewer hauliers in there area to cover their work.
  8. got one from paddock a couple of years ago, its got grease nipples on each hinge point and seems pretty strong, never been out on the road yet as the 90's still not finished.
  9. Maybe hgv's should be run on red then there wouldn't be so many companies goin under and the price of pretty much everything you buy would drop dramatically as it wouldnt be costing as much to get it delivered/moved. Bit O/T i know but needs doin.
  10. sounds like a whining diff to me but im sure someone with more knowledge will be along to give a better suggestion
  11. Round about me iv never been pulled in the landy but have seen plenty diesel cars being pulled in. Mind they seem more interested in trucks. Im sure most of europe has the same restrictions but im not 100% sure. Got pulled in the truck leaving spain a few times last year and they were just interested in my trailer each time.
  12. you can buy 3m schutz cheaply on ebay, theres a company offers anyting from 1 can to 12 cans depending on how much you need http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/mdabitec/&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2754
  13. used bolts when i fitted my last 200tdi manifold, as you thought its nigh on imposible to get the manifold back off once the engines fitted
  14. ok so iv been offered a brand new/unused set of headman headers for a decent price, but i dont know much about these headers so am looking for your opinions/views on them.............
  15. another vote for schutz, iv just done the disco underbody and chassis with it and it gives a very tough finish, also done the bottom, arches, under seatbox and bottom of floor panels on the 90. maybe im just addicted to the stuff, gona do the l200 next before i sell it. its ment to act as a sound suppressent too but iv never noticed a difference with it.
  16. i got gloves from machine mart but there masks were S*%T so i had a look on ebay and got a auto dark mask for £29.99 and free postage, had it 3 years now and it still performs exceptionally. will have a look later and try and get you a link if you like.
  17. if your not going to use the rear seats then ideally an internal cage done well would provide the best protection imho
  18. wont matter, just remove the flexi-plate and torque convertor from it if its an auto and replace it with your existing flywheel and new clutch. suppose it would be best if it was manual then you havent got to alter anything really
  19. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-TARO-DIESEL-ORANGE-HI-LUX-RANGEROVER-SPORT-MONSTER-TRUCK-no-SWAP-SWOP-PX-/300755839250?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item460671e912 says "no one else has this front end" mmm wonder why?
  20. Had the three lights on a couple of years back on the disco (2003 td5) and it turned out to be the ring in the hub that the sensor reads off, only solution was to replace the whole hub.
  21. i'll second that, i would want inside and out done, like the old saying "if a jobs worth doing its worth doing proper"
  22. Defo mostly britpart and their not the cheapest around either. Mind its amazing how many suppliers out there actually send out britpart stuff, thats why now i mainly us LRseries or britpart. Not that im suggesting britparts bad, in my experience with their stuff its never let me down.
  23. I'm thinking that cage could do with a bit of work around the middle, i.e support from the cage to chassis imho
