  1. i have a 2003 (52) and there is no difflock on it, obviously its easier just to use the same stickers for them with and them without, as for headlight adjustment the swithch is just to the right of the steering cowl on the dash and as mentioned above the washers only work wi the lights on but in my opinion their just a waste of time.
  2. i saw something on ebay a couple of weeks back for the defender heater that altered the fan speeds so as to give better flow in the lower speeds, was £19.99, sure if you type landrover defender heater its one of the first things that come up. would post a link but i still havent figured out how to do it
  3. whats gona be best for the 200 tdi, either alisport double core intercooler which slots in the same space as the original but being twice as thick or spend an extra £3 and get the full width front mounted alisport intercooler opinions please
  4. got one for the td5 a couple o months back, m&m 4x4 were the cheapest at the time
  5. excellent theory, has to be better as fitting aluminium panels at £79.99 a pop and having to replace them again in the future coz of corrosion or dents and at least plastic dosent really dent so theres no worries on that, may just go ring paddocks and order a pair.
  6. thanks western, that sounds like the way forward for me, now just need to decide on gauges, any recomendations welcomed
  7. had at look at the link £79.99 + £8.99 postage, its a bit much for me, that makes £170 for 2 wings
  8. so forgive me if im wrong but are we saying i could run the main battery's meter through the ignition and the auxilliary's from the isolator switch??
  9. my mates neighbour uses them magnets on his trooper, currently he has 6 on one line and reckons he gets between 10 and 15 extra mpg. :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: YEAH RIGHT!!
  10. why would anyone run an engine wi no filter. surely thats just pure stupidity
  11. most of my motors were pushin on well over 100k, no damage
  12. was actually thinking of linking each battery to a kill switch for added security so could maybe use that idea but via the kill switches if possible
  13. hi, i am looking at fitting 2 volt gauges to the 90 to monitor the 2 optima batteries but when i look at info on fitting a gauge the concensus is they wire to the ignition and not the battery but i want to monitor both batteries so does anyone know of a way to do this? would prefer to use gauges if possible.
  14. im in need of a new wing for the 90 but cant seem to find a new aluminium one, instead all i can find is abs plastic panels, whilst rebuilding im gona do both wings as the other aint too great either, just wonderin if anyone has used the abs plastic wings and what your opinions were on them
  15. not strictly landrover talk but my L200 has been running a k+n induction kit for the last 3 years and the engines still running sweet as a nut, sails the emmisions every year and thats without a cat, before owning this i had a pajero with k+n also and no probs and before this i went through the whole boy racer stage for several years so every car got treated to a performance filter, whether it be k+n/pipercross/green and it never did any harm to my engines, way i see it is if they are cleaned regularly and thoroughly then theres no problems with them.
  16. defo keep the D2, them new D3's and D4's just dont have the same appeal, got my D2 4 year ago wi a genuine 17'000mls on the clock and its just turned 39'000 so its here for a few years yet unless a range rover sport turns up at an absolute bargain of course.
  17. sure when i looked into chassis i read marslands are only 2mm steel, and richards are 3mm, its just better for strength and quality all round.
  18. just think of the old sayin "good things come to those who wait"
  19. Bought a richards for mine as when i was looking i did a lot of forum searching and they came highly recommended and marsland not so
  20. its worth a try, has to be better as spendin nigh on £400 for 2 batteries if that mite work.
  21. they have just been lyin around the garage for the last 2 years so im hoping this mite be the reason they so flat, heres hopin anyway
  22. ok so the heaters fitted and ready to attach the hoses from the engine (disco 200 tdi in a 90) but iv forgotten which hose goes where, its the old style heater with the pipes bending downwards. which pipe from the engine goes to which position on the heater is the big question?
  23. ok so iv got all the wiring connected for the 200 tdi (disco engine) but it dont seem to wanna crank, iv got second stage power as i can get the wipers to run (slowly) have checked the battery and both yellow and red optimas are both around 6 to 6 1/2 volts so was thinkin o attching the jumper pack to see if this mite work. Have had the charger plugged in for 3 days to the red optima but instead of charging its lost 0.1 volts. does anyone know if there mite be a reason for them not charging with the trickle charger? is there anything stupidly obvious i could have missed with the wiring? do i just plain and simply have a flat battery?
