Usually LR Series or Britcar. If im in a rush local LR dealer. If they dont have in stock its guaranteed next working day and it will be in to collect.
Thanks for the heads-up Donald. I'll bare that in mind. Dont wanna screw up a new pump! Wasnt aware the hub was an interference fit. Then again i might not need the hub unless thats what the pulley bolts to...
Thanks for replying guys...
Dieseldog - The pump you put up a link for looks like the type for a serpentine engine so no use for me. Thats a good tip regarding cutting the nose of the pump though. Id probably have used the grinder then wondered a new pump was knackered!
Paul you are correct. I had a look at those pumps but like you suspect are not compatible with my timing cover.
Think i'll need to get something like STC1611 and cut it down. Unless of course some of the V8 boys would care to chime in with a better idea.
Ive noticed that the non-viscous pump has a big boss kind of thing on it. Can i cut this off as long as the pulley as somewhere to bolt to? This would make the pump as shirt as possible??
Anyone??
Having a look to see what waterpump i need for the V8. Problem is there seem to be quite a few different options available.
I know i need the non-serpentine version but i also intend to use an electrical twin fan system instead of the viscous fan so what would be the pump and pulley that i need?
Was looking at buying a US Pro 920nm air impact gun. Are these any good? Will it be man enough for all landrover jobs?
I know stuff-all about these so any advice/thoughts welcome
Phil
Thanks Ralph. Given that the rangey had the 4.6 i guess it doesnt use a different key.
I was told by real steel that the 4.6 used a different woodruff key but they didnt have any in stock...
Thanks for that. However ive been told that the 4.6 key is different from the 3.5 etc. Therefore the one listed in LR Series cant be correct as the defender never came with the 4.6?
Just wondering if anyone has any spare shims lying around gathering dust. If so, id be interested in hearing what you have. Appropriate beer tokens will be payed...
** Mods - i know technically this should be in the wanted section, but just thought id get more V8 specific folks seeing it in this section. Please move if you really feel the need. **
Looking for a part number for a defender td5 'commercial' main harness. My parts catalogue doesnt include td5 part numbers.
The commercial harness does not include any of the wiring for electric windows, central locking, air-con etc etc.
Cheers
I noticed that there is a large hole in the passenger side footwell of my td5 bulkhead.
Doing some searches i found conflicting opinions...surprise surprise. I found one article that suggested its for the routing of the td5 wiring loom. Another said it was for air-con pipework on those vehicles that had it as an option.
Which is true? If its a hole for air-con equipment i will just blank it off.
Looking for help as im getting really disheartened.
I fitted a TD5 chassis loom some while back and now getting round to fitting the main loom. Removed the loom from the large box hoping that it would make more sense once i had it layed out on the floor. How wrong was i? It looks as though someone has done some fettling on it at some point as there are a few scotchbloks here and there. Even i know thats not good!
The long and the short of it is i dont know where to start with fitting this loom. Im not even sure how to route it as i never removed the loom so couldnt make notes on how it came out. Obviously i recognize the fusebox so should i just start there?
It would be a big help if someone who has wired up a TD5 from scratch could give me some inspiration as im flat out of it just now...
Just to add insult to injury i tried to upload some pics i took of the loom and my camera wont work
