Im trying to remove the locating dowel thats in the rear of my 4.6 crank. Is it viable to drill it and run a tap into it, in order to jack it out with a bolt? Is the dowel too hard to drill?

Can anyone help me with sourcing a right-hand body capping for a 110 3-door that doesnt cost £160. Ive tried rimmers, britcar, lr series, ebay etc. Ive even tried on here and other forums. No joy.
Just wondered if anyone knew of a company that may sell them at a more realistic price?
It doesnt have to be galv, but it does need to be a 1-piece (equivalent to MXC5973).

Dont wanna rain on your parade Nige but those heads look like they could do with being refaced...
Or does the pic make it look worse than it really is...
Thanks for the advice and info. I had a feeling the transferbox would be the easiest for me to do. I'll have a look at the guides you mentioned.
Cheers

Ok. What to do? Please bare with my story here.
I currently have an LT230 transferbox and an R380 gearbox. Originally i had planned to exchange both of these for upgraded items from Ashcrofts. There was no real rush in order to save my pennies to purchase these as im currently building my 110 in a large workshop. However, there is a real danger now that im going to be punted out of the workshop fairly soon as the firm that owns the industrial estate is planning to sell the land to housing developers.... Its one of those where i may have 18 months or i may have 1 month....
Both the transferbox AND gearbox are complete unknowns. They are ebay purchases and as such, the worst must be expected as they were both cheap as chips.
I dont have my own hydraulic press as yet but i can get occasional access to one. I may be able to send one of the boxes away for reconditioning if im stretched. Which box would be the easier of the two for me to rebuild?
Any advice welcome

Looking for the part number for the self adhesive strips that go between the van sides and the main cappings.
Also, from the factory the defender has self adhesive strips between the main cappings and the tub itself - hence why they can be tricky to remove. Is it necessary to refit these strips when fitting new cappings, or will i get away with just rivitting the cappings on? If i should renew them i need the part number for these too...

Not too worried about the wiring and box of loose bits etc as im an electronic engineer on the railways, but the 3-phase thing i cant get around - ive seen those ebay converters and they aint cheap for what they do.... Oh well, i'll keep looking.
Thanks for comments.

Looking at buying this
I need a single-phase lift as i dont have 3-phase available. Just wondered if anyone on here knows if this ramp is single-phase compatible as this guy doesnt seem too sure!

I know its not LR related (well not directly ) but i cannot seem to get clear information of the value of scrap steel.
Wondered if somebody in the know could tell me what it is?
Cheers

Spotted this on fleabay and thought it was quite cool.
Is it just me though, or does that wheelbase look more like a 130 rather than the advertised 110?

Just wondering if anyone knows a part number for a side window kit for a 110 van.
I only seem to be able to get part numbers for the sliding window kits which i dont want. Im looking for 1-piece windows to fit in the side panels... I know they are available as ive seen 110 vans with them fitted.

Was mulling over the options for the load area of my 110. Came to the conclusion that i would fit something like exmoor trim's rubber soundproof matting. Problem is, they only seem to list it for a 90 or 110SW. Does anyone offer something similar for the 110 3-door?
