  1. Now theres a bunch that need running over. However on reflection, the 'do' on that guy on the right might puncture the BFG's......
  2. Thanks Quagmire - that is a very good pic. A picture speaks a thousand words.... Phil
  3. Thanks for the tips guys. Just a couple of things though.... Firstly, im a fuel-injection novice so i have no idea what the spary pattern should look like? Also, i dont own an ultrasonic cleaner. If i find that some of my injectors arent 100%, where would i send them and how much would it roughly cost? Phil
  4. I bought a full hotwire injection system for my RV8 megasquirt conversion. Ive stripped it all down for inspection / cleaning. Obviously the injectors are a complete unknown so i was wondering if its best i send them somewhere for professional cleaning / testing? And if so, is there anywhere that comes recommended? Cheers Phil
  5. Great photo. Can almost hear those merlins from here... Phil
  6. Unlucky mate. Im sure your luck will pick up soon. It'll be worth it in the end.. Phil
  7. They will be too large in diameter. Maybe the heads have been machined due to previous valve guide damage....
  8. True. But you would have thought that the seals would have stopped anything big enough to have the potential to score the journal itself? No matter. If it needs doing, it needs doing...
  9. Thats unusual for the RV8 isnt it? Wonder what happened there considering the rest of the journals only needed polishing? Phil
  10. Hi Soylent Green Reading your posts i dont think its your driving style. You dont sound like the last of the late brakers to me... I think the garage has replaced with more inferior parts. As said before, when it comes to brakes (more than any other area of the truck) be sure and use genuine parts... Phil
  11. I remember now...... I got in touch with chadler as he said he had some - no reply.. Thats interesting that you've now had a look at the new defender and see no difference in the fixings. Thanks Nick Phil
  12. That could very well explain it. Thats why i figured the new plastic ones would be a prudent move seeing as i have everything stripped at the front already. No amount of pebble-dashing will rust the ABS through.... Phil
  13. Thats weird. My original 110 donor was 1991 vintage, and there aint a cat-in-hells chance mine were galvanised. Strange one. No matter - if i cant find the new plastic type or if they dont fit, i'll look for galvanised ones.. Phil
  14. Cant all be galvanised as mine were like swiss cheese. Well, one side was especially...
  15. Cheers Chris. Yes its the inner panel im meaning. Its actually instead of the usual metal one. Im thinking it could be quite a good idea for me to consider, given the stage im at in my build. Never need to worry about rust, thats for sure.. If they are indeed fitted to the new tdci's, would there be anything different about them meaning they couldnt be retro-fitted to older defenders? Phil
  16. Hi Roy. Bare in mind that im reffering to the actual inner wheel arch. Not the little extensions that clip onto the outside of the wings. Check the part number Phil
  17. Couldnt help but point out this stupidity.... Does anyone know someone thats sick enough to deface their defender with these? What is this world coming to.........
  18. Am i correct in thinking that there is an ABS (plastic) version of ASR2250 (wheel arch) available? If so, does anyone know where to get them? Phil
  19. Oh and dont confuse britpart with britcar... I use britcar uk for stuff all the time, and have found them more than helpful. Phil
  20. If it seals, rotates, supports, conducts electricity, flows water or damps shocks, dont, for the love of god, buy britpart. We've all had our fingers burnt by them. Until they can prove to consumers that their quality-control improves vastly, i will not go anywhere near them. Im sure your about to hear lots more horror stories on this. Phil
  21. You have to understand. The intoxicating sound and power of a big V8 more than makes up for the thirst! Especially when its not an everyday motor.. Beats burning chip fat anyday...
  22. I need 2 new sill mounting brackets, and from the 110 parts catalogue identified them as part number 347436. However on LR Series it says that they only suit early defenders. Is this a superceded part? And if so, what with? If they only suit early defenders, what do TD5's etc use? Phil
  23. Thats a fair point. Will be interesting to see.... That being said, i own a mk3 mondeo tdci 130 and its now covered over 170k and the only things ive had go wrong are rattly auxiliary and crank pulleys. In the case of the crank pulley, this can be cured by tack welding the two halves of the pulley together.. Do the puma's use the dual-mass flywheels? Phil
