  1. Thanks for the advice guys. Trouble is, they really are well past it.. If i tried to galv them there would be nothing left when they lifted them out the acid tank.. Probably about 2 feet of each capping would be dipped into the zinc
  2. Thanks Ross. I'll give 'em a shout though, like you say, you will probably hear me 'eeeeeeeeking' from all the way down there in oxfordshire.....
  3. Im trying to locate 1-piece body cappings for a 110 van that doesnt cost £eek I called a guy on ebay who was breaking a few landrovers. Unfortunately he had sold them but he mentioned that he noticed a company advertising in the back of landrover world magazine that offered galvy cappings for all models of landy. My local paper shop sold out of LRW so i wondered if someone could possibly confirm if this is correct? Cheers Phil
  4. Id want my gearbox AND transfer box done for that!! Phil
  5. Yes - they make a big difference to ride quality generally.
  6. Excuse my ignorance but what way up should i fit my new progressive springs? Should i fit them tightly wound coils at the bottom? Phil
  7. Sounds like the guy provides a good service along with a good attitude. Im watching this one with interest.. Loving the return of the 10p Phil
  8. Very true Ross. I know what your saying but it depends how far he wants to go. I did the same with my old chassis and by the time id finished with the flapwheel i realised that i needed a new chassis Otherwise my chassis would have been a patchwork quilt of welds
  9. To be honest, if i were you id do most of it with the wire wheel. You might find if you touch the parts of the chassis that has most rust with the flapwheel it could turn into a hole rather quickly... Just my tuppence worth... Phil
  10. I dont think you will have any issues with compatibility. Someone with more knowledge than me may correct me shortly...
  11. Nah. Im just nosey is all.... Seriously though, not unless you could email me a 110 TD5 parts book.... Cheers Phil
  12. Has anyone heard from Ralph (Western) lately? Is he possibly on his hols? Phil
  13. Thanks for all the responses guys. I managed to rectify my schoolboy error with a fine jewellers screwdriver. A little jiggle and pull, and out it popped.... Thing is i very nearly put it back in the same hole Sorted now. Cheers Phil
  14. Ah haaa! That explains why i couldnt find it in the usual shops websites! Thank you very much for the information. Im liking that bumper very much and may contact the company (MIB) and see if they still have the plans to make me one. Cheers Phil
  15. Thanks Nige. I can assure you i wasnt laughin when i realised my schoolboy error... The air was a lovely shade of blue.. Bl**dy tangs! I'll have a go with a really fine screwdriver and 'jiggle' as described......... probably for hours. Phil
  16. I have entered a crimp into the wrong position of the female half of a 4-way econoseal connector. Obviously you cant just pull the crimp out as you would break the connector, so i was wondering is there a special removal tool that will allow me to remove the crimp from the connector without damaging either the connector or the crimp... Hope my explanation makes sense? Phil
  17. Err, you are looking at september issue of landrover owner international right? Its part of the 10 best off-road upgrades guide...
  18. Jeeez must be a rare bumper. 80 views and no-one knows it...
  19. On the bottom of page 46 of this months LRO magazine, there is a white defender sporting a winch bumper with a lightforce sticker on it. Does anyone know who makes/sells this bumper? Phil
  20. Put it this way..... Ive seen far ropier looking defenders fetch more money than that.
  21. love to see him trying to hussle that through a slippery roundabout with that on the roof..... His hands would be a blur on the wheel
  22. Could someone possibly tell me axle specs/year etc from the number i noted from it? The number is 14S28790A Phil
  23. Looking for part numbers for some little parts. On the rear axle there are clips (o/s and n/s) that hold the rear brake pipes to the axle itself. These are the push-in type by the looks of things. Also looking for the little retaining clips that hold the rear flexi brake pipes onto the bracket on chassis. These are like little spring clips. Mine have rusted through and broken... Cheers in advance Phil
