I like the idea of cooler oil, have you fitted a temp gauge Ralph? Be interesting to know how much cooler it gets the oil?

The K48 is also good for putting on nuts and bolts and any steel that’s fitted against Aluminum to prevent corrosion. 👍

I’d also agree that battery is goosed. Sounds like it’s not holding any charge even after the 20 mile run. And the truck probably needs a good run out to clear it. A good service wouldn’t go a miss if it’s not had one. 👍

@gerrymc123 I guess the MOT station registers mileage? My truck has a KM speedo. But yes, even a quarter of a million KM’s is pretty good 💪👍😊 (assuming the speedo is the original)

So Monday has arrived along with the new servo, got in from work and cracked on before the rain arrived. The hardest part of this job was getting the bas@#§$ing cotter pin In and out to the brake pedal. If you have an angled pair of pliers it sure does help !! what a difference in the braking performance !! I know they weren’t great but looking back at how they actually were it’s frighting. So once again thanks to everyone for their input. Handbrake also adjusted so it’s ready for MOT on Wednesday 🙏🏻

I was thinking that too @Red90 @western on my pictures, the foam seal seems to be glued to the pedal box. After a clean up I can glue it back down.... be nice to renew it though

Ok so having discovered a problem with my brakes which don’t seem to be too bad. There seems to be trouble maintaining the same braking performance when going downhill and on the brakes for a good few seconds.... getting advice from another thread ( thank you), it seems vacuum is the issue. So, having replaced the non return valve on the booster, which didn’t make any difference (slightly worse if I’m honest), it’s time to get it sorted. I did the test, engine off, press pedal several times, hold pedal whilst starting engine and pedal should sink when vacuum assists....... there is NO further assist. So, should I invest in a new brake booster? Or a vacuum pump? Also did the finger test on the pump and seemed ok but, on the other thread it seems that’s not enough. 👍😎

I bought a mixed rubber grommet set and filled a good few on mine. I suppose it comes down to how tidy you want the truck to look. 😎
