Hi Tom, Looking at that then, mine is in the wrong position. It needs to be rotated so the tooth that is aligned with the TDC pointer is aligned with the VR sensor. Correct ? Cheers, Andy

Since I'm feel'in rather generous..... aka 1.5 bottles of white wine later.... here's a .jpg of the bracket if anyone wants to have fun with a jigsaw. The red line is the bend line and I've not added bend allowance as it'd press it square. Suggest that you make out of 3mm m/s or what ever's lurking at the bottom of the scrap bin. The pitch across the top of the water pump is about 40mm so you'll need some 33mm spacer turned up otherwise add the 33mm to the top of the bracket for the back one. You can't split the difference and have one universal lh/rh bracket as the coils will hit the aircon/alternator belt. BTW, haven't made one yet, so not 100% that it'll even line up... hic hic.... Hi all, Finally got round to start fitting EDIS to my 90. Here are a few pics of the coil pack brackets I'm using. There from early Escorts as the later ones have an additional plate on the top and are cut down as shown. I'll get some angled brackets cut to fit either side of the water pump on the bolts arrowed and the coil pack mounts will sit on top of these brackets. If anyone wants to go this route drop us a PM and it might get a batch of brackets laser cut & bent up so it's a easy mod. You'll be able to use the same Magnecor leads as Nige has had made, so even easier. Will post more pics as I progress. Cheers,

Hi, Had my Fluke 77 for over 10yrs, on it's second set of probes but there ultra reliable and very good quality. Worth getting the rubber case if you get one of them, supposed to be good for dropping from the top of a telegraph pole. Iso-Tech, Robin, are also a good buy too. If you want to use for home electrics as well, I issue all my electrical engineers with Fluke T5-600 AC/DC tongue testers. Autorange up to 600V AC & DC, 100A AC as well as resistance to 1Kohm and cont buzzer, £74 from RS, pt 291-9372 Cheers, Andy

Hi, I'd like to take this opportunity to comment on the above posts : The welding on the 'gold' photo's was a one off kit for Jerry (as we had none in stock at the time) made by a contractor who we have since stopped dealing with due to the variable quality of welding as it did not meet our standards. Unfortunatly, due to time scales for Jerry's magazine article we didn't have time to remake the parts. These will however be replaced in the future prior to the vehicle being used. With regards to Gon2Far and Nigel, he decided to retire without telling me until the very last minute. This left me out of pocket and dealing with alot of annoyed customers as they were confused by the products still being on the website for a number of weeks following our business split. Dave Marsh stepped in and has taken the products on board. He is currently developing a new website that will be live soon and feature all the new & existing products. Cheers, Andy Daws

I think you'll find the little raised lumps are there to aid the release of trapped mud in the thread. It stops the suction effect.... or that's what I've read on tyre design. Cheers, Andy

Hi, Before getting into Landy's I built 2 kitcars. The first was over 10yrs ago and it was a 7 type made by a company called Racecorp and my second was a Porsche 550 Spyder (loose) replica based on a Skoda Estelle !!! I built both for the challenge but thats where the real problem came for me... once there built you just want to build another... and another. So, I got a Landy.... lots of opportunity to make bits etc... My advice is if you really want a 7 type then you won't go far wrong with a Westfield, loads of support and there are alot of good tidy examples for sale second hand. You also won't have to go through the SVA nightmare.... and I mean nightmare... my Spyder got failed the first time because a 2" monza filler cap had not got 2.5mm radiused edges on the hinge !! Second time round they pulled it up on a locking nut for a wing mirror not having the same radius on the nut flats !!! The mirror was a brand new Kawasaki motor bike part that's on thousands of bikes worldwide. So, take my advice and get a good second hand vehicle, skip all the SVA carp and go enjoy it whilst the sun shines. Cheers, Andy

Hi, Just got home from the show... wet or what !! Worst bit for us was that some theiving scum stole a full set of leaf springs off our display stand last night.... we hope there chassis breaks in half and there all killed..... serve them right.... WE won't be doing that show next year for deffinate... carp organisation, poor security apart from Friday night when they wouldn't let the rest of our display crew in because it was after 8pm and we hadn't booked a late entry requirement. There again we didn't expect a blowout on the trailer that took 2 hours to get fixed. Cheers, Andy
