  4. Does any one know if a Detroit truetrac can be refurbished? if so is there a kit available
  5. I have broken one Gkn halfshaft in the last four years of serious off roading, I rate the as the best on the market really.
  6. I have always considered the Cv as the weak link in the transmission, and as such we have strenghtened every thing else, (diffs, half shafts) , my concern is what will be next on the list of "must haves" when the cv's stop breaking, the cv is accessable and relatively easy to repair and it pays to have a spare or two behind the front seat, What if the last piece in the jigsaw of bits to fail turns out the be the centre diff? if one of these goes clonk during an event then the chances of effecting a repair are less than a simple cv
  7. I would have thought given that the lane was clearly defined between the banks that the usage of the whole lane would cause less damage overall to the ground. As a country lad brought up on a farm we would never use the same track twice when driving on soft ground this meant the ground had a chance to recover where as if the same track is used every time then you get deeply cut tracks which stay for ever.
  8. minivin did I see you take a picture of the event?

  15. You will have to change both axles as the track is different too
  16. Been there and done that, it was a great engine and had loads of torque. Got the mating plate from milniners, but there was a shed load of other machining and fixing to make it fit. The truck ran out of steam at 55. I have a 110 with a straight 6 nissan engine in it
  17. We have had the same problem when we made the track rods strong enough we started to shear off the track rod ends, even genuine ones, so a compromise are Qt bars /bearmach strenghtened bars and std track rod ends and even these will bend . Tonk should you consider spring steel ?
