  1. Nice look vehicle however is seems to shout Volvo to me
  2. Yep have to agree, anytime any mates are over and use mine they all buy one for themselves after using it, couldn't see myself using spanners unless badly stuck :D
  3. I agree, I watched the dvd and have to say its very well put together, I do not understand to dialogue, but the action gave an insight to whats going on. A mate of mine has a classic saying which sums it up " Its like sex no good unless you are taking part"....................
  4. After looking at the pictures the saying "Much Todo about nothing" springs to mind
  5. I'm the same I have a really hi tech trottle control nicked from a lawnmower, cheap and easy to replace. there is a hole on the fuel pump arm for the cable to fit in to as well.
  6. I am using an electric solenoid setup with control switches sited outside and inside the cab. I find it excellent and have no control problems with the setup. I usually start it at tickover and then being up the revs. I also am using an electric clutch on the pump mounted where the air con should go, powerful and safe. I a manual spool set before and would not go back to it again. As said the spool block is sited out under the front wing with a few cables to where the switches are
  7. Wow great service posted on Friday with me this morning, thanks a million :D :D
  8. Could I add my name to the I REALLY REALLY would like this dvd please how is payment done for this? whats the current rate for sheep?
  9. Why not use electric solenoids? we use these and have only a normal switch on the dash/front of the truck to operate the winch (just like the electric boys) , does away with levers and cables, and is pretty bulletproof too.
  10. Hi Jon, I'd change the oil pump as I reckon your pressures are a bit low
  11. usually the seal needs replacing if the spring has popped out, as you have the t-box out I ould change the seal as a matter of course.
  12. This is a bit bodgy but works a treat, we bought a cheap bolt cutters in Lidl and shaped out the blades to crimp 50 square cable works every time and for about 10 euro
  13. I have one for about six months now and have to say its the business, pumps 35 inch tyres easily and quickly I have pumped rear wheels on our tractors easily as well, Well worth the money
  14. Interesting reading, I use a hydraulic in front and a e9 on the rear, I have to agree with everything said about the superwinch, it is really strong and the lower amp draw means I do not need a huge battery set up to work it
  15. Being out and about buying a few sheds see what you think This series 2 petrol with an overdrive, spare rear half chassis, a bag of spares etc this 86 inch series 1 with less than 6k genuine miles on it
  16. Just reading the series 1 operators manual when I came upon this FUSE. The single fuse is located, together with a spare, under a separate cover alongside the control box on the scuttle. It protects the horn, windscreen wiper, fuel tank level unit and the stop lights. A blown fuse is indicated by the failure of all the units protected by it, and is confirmed by examination of the fuse, which can easily be withdrawn from the spring clips in which it fits. How simple can it get? no horn? check the fuse
  17. Should be fine for test purposes, the idea of the third port is when going from forward to reverse under load or visa versa the pressurised oil is bled off thus protecting the seals and returning the oil to the tank.
  18. The third port on the motor is usually a bleed off for over pressure to prevent the seals being damaged, this pipe usually is returned to the tank, or in this case the smaller port on the valve block.
  19. A set of clamps and some bendy 50 square welding cable is what we use. ours would be 3 to 4 m long great for starting defenders with the battery under the seat
  20. Hi All Aquired a RR classic 1986 with a 6cyl Nissan fitted to an auto box with a borg warner Xfer box, The vin no says this truck had a V8efi fitted before the conversion, I am wondering how will the auto box perform long term behind the nissan engine, The truck is rusted so cannot run it in its present fitting, Was wondering about fitting the drivetrain to a Defender as an offroad truck? Ideas anyone?
  21. I have fitted a 300tdi rad to my 200 as the inlet and return are both on the lefthand side allowing the rad to be moved back right to the power steering box.
  22. Is there not a percentage of biodiesel in the French fuel? this would account for the better economy
