  1. The bearings themselves arent replaceable but the hubs are the same as fitted to the P38,both front and rear. Be aware that the copy items have a habit of allowing grease to pass the internal seals and foul the ABS COLLECTOR RING ,in turn causing your ABS lights to illuminate. Recently fitted a non genuine one,and had the above issue. After fitting a new senso discovered it was grease on the ring causing the problem. One to be aware of.
  2. Took it back to my independant dealer in Deeside this morning. He put it back on Auto logic, ran another check,it was still showing a low reading on the front L/H ABS sensor. I told him that there was some grease on the collector ring when I fitted the SENSOR and he said that was probably the reason for it still showing the fault. Disconnected the computer and hey presto. No more lights!
  3. Recently had the 3 amigos appear on my dash(ABS,TC,HDC). Had the fault diagnosed on AUTOLOGIC as the L/H front abs sensor. Ive replaced that along with the front discs and pads. Not to difficult job,but now I have connected everything back up the lights are still on? D o I need to take it back to have the fault code cleared before the lights go out,or is it something ive done. I was very carefull whilst installing the sensor.Noticed some signs of grease on the collector ring,is that normal? all suggestions greatly received.
  4. once the fault has been diagnosed and the sensor has been replace will the lights go out automatically or will they need resetting. the reason I ask is that once diagnosed I intend to replace the sensor myself. But if it needs to be reset I might aswell let the garage change it. any suggestions?
  5. Been out this morning and on my return journey the ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL warnining lights came on and stayed on. My vehicle is a Disco 2 4.0 V8 1999. Any suggestions for a quick fix or does this need to be hooked up for a diagnosis? cheers
  6. anything Rover based will fit (200,400,600,800 series) If you can get hold of them,800 vitesse seats are very nice. They are half leather and made by recaro, Loads of seats on e-bay or try your local breakers yard. the choice is endless Good luck
  7. Try remote key. They are based in stratford upon avon.About £90 for one and thats programmed.
  8. Get yourself a rocking chair and a shotgun. You can sit admiring your pride and joy safe in the knowledge that shotgun pellets generally travel faster than the thieves feet can carry them. only joking of course! a crossbow is far quieter!
  9. Snap -on do a kit ,nice, but expensive. I think you might be able to get one from an engineering tools supplier though.
  10. You shouldnt have any problems with an oxford welder, nice smooth flow of power. 2.0 or 2.5 mild steel rods will be fine. If youve got a large number of rods to keep dry,I used to use an old fridge with a 100watt bulb inside. The fridge was airtight and the bulb provided just enough warmth to keep the rods dry. good luck
  11. Following my last post,I went to Costco(Chester) Today. As luck would have it they had 2 ex -demo CSPS boxs for sale. I am now the proud owner of a 41" stainless steel box and paid the sum of £199.99 plus vat. Some else had just purchased the 56" box - gutted.
  12. If you want a top quality toll box,get yourself down to COSTCO. The boxs they sell are made by CSPS.(A GOOGLE SEARCH WILL GIVE A PICTURE) They do a stainless steel box which is as good as if not better than Snap on. The quality is fantastic
  13. you cant beat heat. oxy-acetylene if you know someone with a set. or just try a good old blow torch.Heat the head to a nice dull red and it will undo without a hitch
  14. Ive just changed every bush for polybushes(GENUINE POLYBUSH - No someone who works in the factory and got them for me f.o.c.)I didnt encounter any problems fitting. The tubes on the originals are chamfered, and although a tight fit ,I didnt need to use a press to fit them. Getting the old ones out though - that was a t~#t of a job. Should be on the road soon ,that will be the real tester.
  15. your best bet is to have a look on e-bay.I got myself a nice momo wheel for under £30,and then bought a boss off the net.All in less than £60. Just make sur you know how many splines your coloum has before you by the boss.
  16. ive just plugged in the alternator and tried again and the engine turns over. cheers guys
  17. Simonb, If its anygood its a 1987 2.5td 90.You mentioned it might depend on the model
  18. Cheers guys - The alternator is off because one of the bolts is sheared(the one that holds the bottom of the alternator to the PAS bracket). Once ive extracted the stud,I will put it all back together and try again. If any one can think of any thing else, plesae feel free. cheers again
  19. I've finally got around to making a start on my 90,which has been standing in my garage for over 12months. I put the battery on,connected the leads and then turned on the ignition. The ignition lights(oil, battery and glow plugs lights) all came on,but when I turned the key all the way - Nothing. I checked the battery leads - tried again -still nothing. Now heres the strange bit. I turned off the ignition, and turned on the radio - on came the ignition lights? Turn the radio on and off ,and on and off go the lights. I press the horn button ,guess what - it does the same thing. The alternator is currently disconected,as are all the lights, because im in the process of stripping it down. whilst having a good look around under the bonnet,I have found 2 sweetcorn husks sitting on top of the chassis leg near the starter and im worried that a rodent of some description has chewed my wiring.(I didnt have a garage door for some time but that is now sorted.) I cant see anthing obvious though. All suggestions welcome-cheers
  20. Low engine oil level?low oil pressure?

  22. Thats right ,they are a sealed unit.Dont know if you already know this but the hub is the same as that used on the Range rover(P38)plenty of these available in the breakers.Ive just replaced one on my V8 1999 Disco 2.Cost from the breakers £65.
  23. Get onto E-bay and enter GLIDEROL,you will find a firm called COUNTRYWIDE GARAGE DOORS.Ive just purchased a 14ft x 7ft remote controlled roller shutter door for £530.00. The best quote prior was £1700.00 for the same door. The door is fantastic.
  24. Changed the battery this morning. No issues with the stereo or alarm. The stereo head unit(genuine landrover)didnt require a code re-entering.Everything is as is was before.Cheers.
