  1. i was thinking about getting 5 - is that a problem? would be nice to get something like those electric heaters in some HD version. maybe some military vehicles had something like that? another idea would be a heated windscreen - anyone tried that? cheers spec
  2. i did see the smiles - thats why i wrote "very funny" good idea - those electric heaters. less hassle to fit and lots of space in the passenger footwell and they will only demist the windows and not heat the cab - so no danger in being called a "princess"
  3. very funny demisting windows work a lot better with hot air than with cold demisting becomes an issue after lots of water crossings / humid air / wet conditions in general i do actually like to see something when i race - if that makes me a princess in your eyes then i sure hope I'll never happen to be in the same race as you. if you don't like it - i suggest you read something else - loads of other topics around afaik
  4. this is a truck i only use for racing. the original fan is quite new the snow cover will not help since i do deep water crossings traing to make the engine bay as possible + make the challenge wings so that they can be removed very quickly. this is for easy access und maintenance. i saw a picture of a truck here on the forum where someone put in a heater in the footwell - looked very neat. not nearly as big as AC. can't remember what thread i found it though - maybe someone knows? cheers spec
  5. looking for a paint that i can use for the footweels/inside of cab. it would be good if its a bit thicker as well as that it should serve as a anti slip surface. any ideas? cheers spec
  6. i would like to get rid of the original defender heating unit on my 90 soon to be 103. reasons being: *it takes up too much space - i want to improve service accessabiulity in the engine bay *doesn't work well - it doesn't blow *takes air from the wrong place - air intake is constantly full of muck looking for a small unit that i could put into the passenger footwell, that heats with water and blows well. any suggestions? cheers spec
  7. p.s.: this is the standard setup of course - with 2 pumps i modified it as follows tank inline pre filter - the size recommended by facet facet low pressure pump td5 fuel filter in td5 fuel filter out (connections to td5 fuel filter as per original diagramm) swirl pot in swirl pot out (bottom of swirlpot) high pressure pump engine - fuel rail fuel cooler return to td5 fuel filter on the return, the td5 fuel filter returns the air to the tank, fuel will go back to the cycle. the swirl pot needs a fuel return line to tank since it receives more fuel thatn taken by the HP pump cheers spec
  8. there u go - page 6 td5_fuel_system.pdf
  9. thats how i did mine in the end - i have the 200tdi side tank: low pressure lift pump - swirl pot - high pressure pump. pumps supplied by devon 4x4. i used a fuel filter plate from a td5 disco as well. td5 fuel system is quite complex - i still have a didagramm for the fuel flow if you need one. also used high pressure hydraulic fuel hoses - standard ones started leaking after a while - fuel gets quite hot on engine return. first tried to use only one pump to make things easier - and used a pieburg pump from a beamer. engine ran but I found that the high pressure pumps don't like sucking - pump lasted about 2 hours. messing around with fuel pumps took up a large part of the time spend on my td5 install - wires were a piece of cake ;-) well worth it though! cheers spec
  10. i buy ALL my stuff from the uk for the reasons you mentionand they all deliver to Austria. And I've been doing so for years. I don't see why they shouldn't deliver to denmark. Who did you try to buy from? Never happened to me that someone who sold something i wanted in the UK refused to ship to mainland-Europe. And I have wanted lots of stuff in the past ;-) cheers spec
  11. trying to buy the right handle - anyone got a part number? doors look as in pic
  12. thats what i'm doing - coilovers. makes a lot of sense, springs available in all sorts of rate, even can do a dual spring setup, to make a totally progressive setup. vehicle height is easily adjustable - the list goes on. And once you have taken the grinder to remove the stock spring/schock brackets you realize that there is more than enough space and not as much work as it seems at first and you will be wonderting why you havn't done it many years ago. cheers
  13. received my door tops today. on the inside there is square bolt coming out (the black bit in the picture). is this the mechanism to prevent the window panes from moving? and if yes it looks like it should have a handle on it - anyone has the part number of that? cheers
  14. copy what technology? and the wouldn't need 13,000 if all they wanted to do is copy i really like the copy of a BMW X5 the chinese presented last year. it has beam axles, leaf springs and goes about 80 km/h. maybe they are planning an upgrade to coil springs and a bit more power so they'll propably put X5 bodies on the defender they just ordered.
  15. if you plan to take the truck off road don't buy the drilled/groved ones from paddocks. had them on my challenge truck and the wholes/grooves filled with dirt that wasimmpossible to remove and that wore the pads in no time. standard ones are much better for off road use.
  16. thast looks cool - who sells that? tried google - no luck. cheers spec
  17. concerning the type of net - thats what i'm looking for. but the devon nets are too small - i'm looking at 1,5 x 2.5 m what I'm looking for is the type of cargo net shown in 007 - "The living daylights", the net that is dangling out of the flying cargo plane and bond and his russian opponent hanging onto it trying to push each other off. that would be perfect!
  18. looking for a cargo net for the (soon to be) trayback to fix things on the back. rather than a net made of strings, i would look for something made of webbing and should be rather strong. idea would be to attach it on the tray behind the cab put stuff on the tray, pull over the net and than strap down the net with rachet straps using hooks to attach to net. any ideas where i can get something like that - military surplus maybe. remember i saw something that would fit the bill in some james bond movie
  19. i looked at the paddock one - not sure whether it will work since i think the suspension twists the joint and therefore undo the thread. rose jointz seems to make more sense.
  20. not that much - i admit i'm also knocking out the panhard bushes quite fast - so therefore looking for a solution with a rose joint
  21. primarily looking or something that lasts. with the standard lights, the bulb hulder corrode very fast and then they don't work. kinda sick of messing with them. thinking that LED are/can be sealed to make them water/muck proof. cheers spec
  22. can confirm that - outflow on top opf box inflow on the bottom
  23. i remember seeing those somewhere. anyone knows who sells them? looking for a complete set - indicators, driving lights, back lights, the lot cheers spec
  24. qt is hard to reach by phone as well mail equipe is "a bit" expensive any other suppliers? cheers spec
  25. its for a challenge truck - front axle is not in the center due to lift. cheers
