    Cage work is ok,i have just got a new lad started with me part time, i let him help with the bending and welding,his welding is good but as for bending,lets just say the scrap bin is full of LONG off cuts paint work is always hard when the cage is fully welded to the chassis.

    Sorry Tony no more pics,they were i think bearmach/britpart items that i basicaly added a tube down each side but not stepped out like EVERYONE else does, but bent and cut the ends of the tubes and welded the directly to the sliders.

    Just a few pics of a King Cab 90 we have just built a cage for,main problem was that i couldn't put a cross diagonal in on the hoop or inside the cab because the client wanted to be able to open the rear window.So i think we made the best of a hard job. We also modded the existing rock sliders and made a rear winch mount mounted within the rear cage.

    As Ian said from high speed , cut engine and check plugs will tell a true story.

    Bet it,s the 'O' ring on the throttle spindle it can be changed insitu BUT it is a game.I have done a few the only evidence was a tiny bit of dampness around where the spindle exits the houseing. Chris

    Proper fish that the biggest rainbow i have had was 'only' 18lb still a big un by anyones standard.

    Bet you SH*T yourself when you went to buy tackle,to get a GOOD 3 rod carp setup and all the carp to go with it you are easy close on 2k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT the quality of gear nowadays is 2nd to none.

    putty/paste will and does break down after time,plus the smell is GREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT.

    Tony the exhaust gas is always hotter than the manifold!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Put a temp gun on a manifold then look at EGT mega different!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I know the feeling well!!! Last time i did a big hit was last yeatr fishing on Fen Drayton 90 odd acres with about 20-30 fish in!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All well over 30 lb and 2 possible British Records in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 7 days hooked 1 fish,on for about 30 seconds then fell off,hard to tell when fishing 230+yards out after boating the baits out Thats carp fishing for you.

    Read my above post,RTV on the system isnt even breaking sweat at those sort of temps.The manifold would be fine without anything on IF the faces are good.

    Sorry Tonk didnt read your post,a little bit of grease on the cast iron stuff and RTV on the tube work NEVER had a problem!!!!!!!!!!!! Just make sure the faces are clean.
